Africa, okay. Difficulty in cabling (climate!) is what brings speed down and prices up.

But still, if money wasn't only thing keeping everything down, we wouldn't see such insane differences in countries' speed and price.

My logic tells me - anything cable-related (like providing internet  :P) is dependent on amount of people living is particular area. The more customers you can hook to 10 meters of cable, more profitable thing is.

So no wonder Japan - with loads of people living in tiny areas - has 60Mbit connections.

Actually, I think that cables cease to exist at some point in future. But not in my lifetime.

Questionable

I'm finding it really intriguing to see the cost of internet connection in various part of the world. I pay $50 (USD) for 25Mbps. Before I moved I was getting 30Mbps for roughly $45... Where I lived before that I paid $60 for 5Mbps.
All my trophies have disappeared... FINALLY! I'm free!

Like InCreator and I said we think it is to do with the amount of people in that area. So if there is 500 people in a town. It will cost 60$ for a slow connection.
But if you in like London, New york, Tokyo, Capital cites. It will cost a load less.  Where there is over 60.000 people in those places.

Well that is my logic anyway. ;D

Also Just to say InCreator it isn't only cables. My granddad payed for a Satellite connection 4000$ connection fee. Then like 100$ a gb.
Not to mention the equipment was old so they told him he had to upgrade after a couple of months which the fee was 2000$us

I mean the connection wasn't even reliable it was off all the time like maybe 25 days a month it will work. Speed varied a lot too.

I get my internets for free. One uncapped ADSL line at 512 and one uncapped leased line at 512, adding up to a total of 1024.

My life rules. :D
