Title: I Made the List
Post by: LGM on Tue 10/05/2005 21:52:22
If anyone here frequents Great Writing (http://www.greatwriting.co.uk), you would know that they are offering a contest to win a holiday trip to France.

They announced the candidates today (http://www.greatwriting.co.uk/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,117/page,viewtopic/t,132/), and my one-act play is on the list. This means, if I get enough votes, I could win a trip to France.

Granted, I'd have to pay my air fare.. But how cool is that?!

If you are a member, vote for teh LGM! If not, register and vote!

Whee! I am excited.

Isn't air fare generally the most expensive part of holidays to Paris if you live in the US? This doesn't sound like a very good prize.

For Americans, sure. The site is based in the UK.

I'm just stoked I actually made it.

If I win, I dunno if I'll actually go..

HOW SELFISH!

I hope nobody rushes over there to vote for you lgm.

Not because I have anything against you...but do you really want to win that way?

The point of contests is to encourage people to create good work, not to practice their advertising skills

heheh.. ok, so now everyone, READ the play that LGM wrote, be astounded by it's incredibleness, and THEN vote for him.

Yes. I didn't say you had to vote for me just because it's me. I DO encourage you to read the entries and vote based on merit.

So yeh. I dunno. I want to win the trip, just to say I did, but if I couldn't end up covering the cost, I would hand it off to the runner-up. if I won, though, I might just be arsed enough to actually save some money to go in the summer.

I read it. It was well written, but...did I miss the point? I doesn't so much as end, it just...stops.

Other than that, good luck with it.

Ps. I read 'Lies' too. That was also by you, yeah? I found that to be more complete ;D.

Lies was my first play. I never regarded it as much, but since I rewrote it awhile back it's grown on me. Thanks for recognizing it :)

Poker Night was really written as a spur of the moment thing. We needed a play to perform for our one-act. My only provision was to write a part for my friend Henry. Mike is that character. It worked out nicely.

I've revised the script since then. There really IS no point to it. It's just a nice little snippet of the mens' lives. I dunno. You liked it, though, eh?

Sure, I liked it. Taking it a just a kind of 'Vignette' of what happens at a poker game, it's grand. And as good as what's also nominated. I'll sign up and vote for you, if you like. ;D

Vignette. That's the word. Thanks again. About voting, I don't really care what you do either way.. lol. If you do, thanks.

Too late, my vote has been cast ;D.

21% of the vote so far, not bad.

Good Luck. :P
