really stupid question but how do I get an icon.
how do you mean? like a custom Icon? you'll need and Icon building program for that. There are several good, free ones out there. Just do a search.

yah but how do I load it over there on the left of the <---- screen, under member thing
at the top of the forum screen should be a link for "profile"
Click that and scroll down to where it says: "use personal avitar image"
Enter the URL of the image you want to use (make sure the little checkbox is checked)
Then click "change profile" at the bottom
you're all done. You can use and web-friendly image, you dont need an Icon maker.
