New Depeche Mode track

Depeche Mode have released a new music vid for their new single 'Wrong', (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bsXOcK9_Cw) off their soon-to-be released album Sounds of the Universe.
In my opinion the new track is fucking epic, nice and dark. Check it out, what does AGS think?

Well, I do like Depeche Mode quite alot, and judging by the description of their new album(phrases like "retro-futuristic tendencies" in press releases always gets me excited) and the small videoclips they've posted on their site, I think it might be quite good. Still, I'm not overtly excited by "Wrong", however. One of their weakest singles in a long time, I'd say. Hopefully it won't be a terrible snorefest like the rather dull and horrible "Exciter".

Ah lovely, I didn't know they had new music in the pipeline! (Got all their albums except for the first one.)

I think "Wrong" is rather splendid, and I watched the video twice to try to comprehend it.

How is it a weak single Rincewind? Is it because it's a catchy dark pop song? It's probably the catchiest song on the album, handpicked by the record label, so I'm not surprised. I think it's better than "precious" anyway, which is a good song but it felt like Depeche Mode by numbers. Although I'd like to hear it in better quality than youtube compressed!

Wow what is this £56.99 boxset for it on Amazon?! I must investigate.

Well, it just didn't do it for me all the way. "Precious" might have been Depeche trying to do another "Enjoy the silence", but I thought it worked quite well at that. I'm not saying "Wrong" is bad, I just feel it's a bit below average. Maybe it'll grow on me, but so far it still hasn't caught me the way alot of their other stuff has done. Oh well. A matter of taste, I suppose. Still have high hopes for the rest of the album, anyhow.

I don't think I can justify this 56.99 boxset.. I think I'll just buy the album on it's own. Maybe if it was 39.99 or even 29.99.
