Title: Imagination
Post by: JRock on Tue 18/04/2006 00:38:06
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,  I remember back when I was a kid.Ã,  My imagination was running wild.Ã,  Not much I could do other than make my plastic action figures live out my adventure fantasies.Ã,  I would build cardboard buildings for them to destroy and imaginary houses for them to inhabit.Ã,  Imaginary girlfriends for them them to love.Ã,  The bad guy would show up and with a sudden closing of my throat, I would create an exploding sound and pretend that my hero did a special move and defeated the bad guy and lived happily ever after with the leading lady.
Ã,  Ã,  Ã,

Ã,  Ã,  Ã, Never did I realize that several years later, a man by the name of Chris Jones would let me bring all of those fantasies to life in an AGS game which would let me express my imagination in the form of an interactive experience that everyone around the world could be part of.Ã,  Ã,

Thats what AGS is all about.....Letting us express our imagination through interactive media.Ã,  Its a beautiful thing.Ã,

Makes us feel young again......Letting our imagination run wild!

And that is why each and every AGS game is beautiful in its own way......

Because of the fact that the creator let his/her imagination lead the way!!!

thank you Chris Jones...... ;D ;D ;D

Overwhelmed by that certain nostalgia feeling, eh? But you're right. I remember playing with a castle, and all the knight were participants of the Knight's Olympic Games. The fought against ech other, pole vaulted with their lances, made a marathon aroung the castle. It was an old model of THIS (http://img.quoka.de/quoka.de/77/12063977.jpg) castle.

AGS rocks!

cheers

It's nice, very rewarding.

But not when you can't draw.

Chris is a good man! When exactly IS Chris appreciation day?

every day is CJ appreciation day!
i really like AGS because when i'm bored i can just make a stupid one room game with just one character and some music and absolutely no puzzles (i've made several of these) and imagine how good it could become if i wasn't so busy not working on it...

You know what I think? It's really sad that society doesn't encourage people to actively use their imaginations past childhood.

Excuse me.  I live in Japan.  Could you please explain to me what that word means?

ZING!

I forgot about it too. Luckily, it came up on a vocab test recently by accident so I had to look it up in the dictionary.

Imagination is all around us, just look outside. The landscape has been changed by our imaginations. Without imagination the most low level being would be crushed under the weight of it's own oppression.

Huh?

I'm pretty sure even regular low level beings don't have imagination. Don't think a ladybug has an imagination.

My cat certainly doesn't. The same fucking being-bad, way-to-piss-me-off shit every god damned day.

Cats certainly do have imaginations. For instance have you seen your Cat move it's legs back and forth while sleeping? This movement normally means your Cat is dreaming, Cats often think up imaginative new ways to get to a certain route. The same can be said about almost any being, otherwise the fabric of life would not be.

I was kidding about the cat. Sometimes she invents new ways to be bad.

I wasn't kidding about the ladybug. I don't put that kind of "decision-making" down to imagination.

Perhaps you have no imagination to imagine that a 'ladybug' has it's own imagination. Or atleast it can imagine that it can! We will never know :D

I don't know, I can totally imagine a ladybug with imagination. She might wear like, a pink bonnet with little white dots on it, and has an interest in knitting jumpers for orphaned animals. She also has a slight lisp, and likes to give talks on US foreign policy to shadow puppets. I can see it all now...

But I don't have a belief that it's true, despite the ability of my brain to imagine it.

The existence of human beings is just an imagination of a lady bug. That is, WE DON'T EXIST! Even our imaginations are actually consequence of that particular lady bug's imagination of our existence, in other words, our imaginations are just imagined by non-existing beings which are themselves imagined by something which is at a level that we imagined being are not able to know whether it in turn was just an imagination of some other being at all.

I stand corrected, if you want to challenge me, give me solid proof that I'm wrong!

This brings to my memory the lovely times of my childhood when I used to play with my barbie dolls. I remember how cool it was to dress them up in different beautiful clothes. They were so pretty. I used to play marriagewith the hollywood barbie and Ken, and they always had a baby and lived happily.

I also remember my my-little-ponys, the ones that flew over a rainbow and were all high. They were cute too, and those Polly pocket-dolls which used to be very small.

I don't ge boys. The always play with actionfigures and toyguns. They're all so aggressive.

Because of this I thank you CJ for making AGS!  :=

Meccano isn't aggressive, it's constructive and the most fun! Much shame that most children now do not to get to play with it. If more Children played with meccano there would be less destruction in the world.

Not true, I played with Meccano, and look where I'm now!

I'd use my extra-big boots but I must stay on topic.

When I was really small, I used to think imagination meant hallucinations. Since I didn't have them often (perhaps only a few times a month), when someone said I had "very little imagination", I'd just nod my head.

Later when teachers got annoyed with my ridiculuous essays (which I wrote because the topic was so boring) about your favourite teacher or "How my holidays went" I got a "red marking note" which said I had too much imagination.

I did the whole playing acting with Lego too, but there was always a conflict of interest because my sister always wanted to get 'em all married, and I wanted him to defeat the evil villian. The theme of the lego we had helped me there.
