Thanks Vel, that's another place I'll try to get my new book listed at.Ã,  :)

BTW (In case any of you are interested):Ã,  I just recently got my "Tai Chi" book published and it's now available on various websites, such as over at Lulu.com :
http://www.lulu.com/content/228578
, Amazon.com and some others.Ã,

My friend (he's also my Tai Chi instructor here in Hong Kong), Sifu Cheng, and I put in a lot of work, time and money on this project, so it's nice to finally have it finished, and hey, I can now officially say that I'm a "Published Author".Ã,  Ã,  Now I just need to try and get some more promotions done for it.Ã,  Ã, I'm still fairly new to this book-making & getting published stuff (I'm learning as I go), and sometimes along the way it wasn't so easy, but we stuck with it and accomplished what we set out to do.

Okay, you know you want to support the "Barbarian" (meÃ,  ;) ) so go check out my book now *Crackz whip* and send your friends over too.

*Edit: Crap! I just seen in the FAQs at that IBLIST.com site that they only accept "Fiction" type of books. Oh well, there's lots of other places I been submitting my book to be listed. I'll keep at it.

I'd rather fancy my chances beating up a mime than a tai chi master.

well it's another one of those eastern things (proper word escapes me at the moment) that has become a western fad like feng shui.
those people actually take it seriously whereas in the west it's become part of a trend culture, i mean you don't see people in the east having double mocha latte alpacino high colonic facial breast enlargement injections or chavin' it up do you?
america has no culture of it's own so it has to steal other countrys' and talk about them like it knows what it's on about, then most of the people in this country who think america is so bloody great start doing it too, only it's even more retarded when british people do it.
also, i bet gwen stefani does tai chi...

oh yeh, and you shouldn't go round trying to beat people up anyway (except mimes). :D

But Barbarian claims to live in HONG KONG. Not America. Whether he's American though, I don't know.

But no, I wouldn't do Tai Chi because it's 'in', in fact, if I was to learn a martial art I'd make sure it suits me. Something to do with balance and feet. (Like Karate)

I screwed around with Tai Chi back in the day. Then went full on shotokon for a year and Taikwondo for about 3 (I don't know how to spell these arts names, obviously). It was awesome fun, and I won a tournament too. Then I quit and years later I can honestly say I have barely retained any of the knowledge, and have definately lost the physical ability.

Nik: Right-o, sorry, forgot to mention me full name: "Don McPherson", well actually my full first name is "Donald", but I usually just go by "Don". And, the name of our book:
"Tai Chi Chuan in 24 Forums".

*Put on his Mime makeup and *Slapps** Boy-d around!Ã,  ;D
Actually, I do agree with some of what you say Boyd, well about how things seem to go in "Fads / Trends".Ã,  Lately the trend around these parts seems to be "Yoga".Ã,  Ã, However, for me doing Martial-Arts is not some passing "fad", I've been involved with the Martial-Arts for over 23 years, am fairly High-Ranked, and I'm also a Certified Instructor.Ã,  Whereas some Martial-Arts (such as Karate or Tae Kwon Do) tend to focus more on the "external strength", or more on the Physical side of things, whereas a Martial Art such as Tai Chi focuses more on the "Internal Strength", so the power comes from within as well as your surroundings. When you learn how to control this "Inner Strength", or "Chi", the results of the movements can become very powerful indeed.Ã,  Ã, *Whoosh! -P-O-W-*Ã,  ;)
Quotei mean you don't see people in the east having double mocha latte alpacino high colonic facial breast enlargement injections or chavin' it up do you?
Ã,  Ã, Well, actually there are a few of those idiots around here too, though perhaps not near as much compared to some of the "Western" countries.Ã,  :P But, yeah, here they look totally ridicullous (well, they look foolish regardless what part of the world they're in). Anyways, I tend to stay well clear of that kind of crowd anyways, not my thang.

Actually, I'm a big-white-guy from Canada, but yes, I've been living in Asia the last few years (based in Hong Kong). I train with some of the Martial-Art Masters here, and I also have my own little Martial-Art school here in Hong Kong (which is a rare thing for a non-Chinese here), and I've recently been accepted as a Member of the Hong Kong Martial Art Association (again, here, it's a rare thing for a non-Chinese / non-Asian), and I've been a long-time member of the World Kobudo Federation.

Ã,  Ã, Sorry, I'm not meaning to sound like I'm bragging, but, just to let you guys know that yes, I do know a few things about the Martial-Arts, and it's definately not a "Passing Fad" or "Trend" for me, it's an important part of my life in which I've been doing a long time.Ã,  So, our book is a collaboration of effort from two dedicated practitioners of the Martial-Arts wanting to share our experience and knowledge to a wider audience in hopes that it can also help to improve some peoples health and lives.Ã,  Ã, Best wishes!Ã,  :)
