Pick up lines generaly turn people off. Why? Well, they show that you only want one thing and you don't have any imagination/you're stupid and can't make for any interesting conversation. I think girls invented them in the first place to pick out people they don't want to be with

Sorry to barge in, if this is a personal conversation but I was passing by and couldn't help listening,
my question is:

pick up lines turn girls off, but what I've allways undestand is that females are phisically beautifull beeings and so they apreciate, above all, a compliment about their beauty, as is their natural way of existing, so girls allways love to hear something nice even if it was used before,
now, if girls respond in a agressive way to a pick up line is because they were tought by older girls to do it and ignore it.
The same way, man will allways like a coment about their strenght, altough woman may say that they look for a inteligent man, they(man) still prefer it.
It's the way we are, man and woman, we can try to change and even pretend we are diferent but in the end...

Using a pickup line and sayying something witty to get a girl to remember you the next morning are two very different things. Anyone can use a pickup line, only clever people can say something witty on the spot. Also, if you comment on something other guys who try to pick up dont notice, they like that.You have beautiful ears. Now you dont hear many people saying that now do ya!!!

I agree - it was never really the question of saying something cheesy and classic - I tried to come up with some smart, existential yet funny reflection...but my head wasn't clear enough.
I also was a bit annoyed at bitchy women - just prior to this, a girl had kept teasing me for not wanting to use the urinoar in the men's room, while she and her friends were there too.
I don't have this huge urinoar-phobia, but I prefer taking a leak in privacy rather than in front of lots of people including girls.
They were really patronising, asking if I was too shy or concerned about the size of my penis or something. The most bothering thing was that the most bitchy girl was extremely attractive, so while I mobilised my verbal defence, I kept being distracted by her physical appearence.

So, you see, girls really know how to tease me.

There is a vast difference between a pick-up line and a compliment. A pick up line is :
"Are you tired? Because you've been running through my mind all day."
"Are those moon-pants? Because your ass is out of this world."
"I'm no cashier, but you've got two items I'd like to check out."

Pick up lines are prepared before hand to impress members of the opposite sex with your supposed intelligence.

A compliment, however, is usually a bit more spur of the moment; it's an observation that will make the person you're talking to feel good.
"That's a lovely outfit."
"You're a good dancer."
"I like your hair colour- green suits you!"

Okay, maybe not that last one. In conclusion, compliments=good, pick-up lines= bad.

And Andail- What were girls doing in the men's room, or do I want to know?

ThatÂ´s the point... That girl was not looking for a pick-up line (I suppose, in fact, only Andail knows it...) but I suppose she wasnÂ´t looking for a compliment neither.

That girl was looking for something more shocking like that... I wonder why didnÂ´t Andail get it, because he seems smart and clever. I suppose his mind was blured by the alcohol or something...

I am looking forward for AndailÂ´s posts talking about a second change with that girl... All the AGSers are thrilled by that!!!

Yes, I dont need pickup lines anymore but one that I thought was a good one is "Ma'am, that dress(or whatever) is very becoming on you, and if I was on ya' I'd be cumming too." If women take it then...
