And now, out of boredom, I present to you: Interesting Forum Facts!
Yes, the thread where AGSers can learn the strange but true facts about this community! ;)
I have done some research and have uncovered the following facts:
1: There are more users here with names beggening with S more than any other letter. 179 users to be exact. There are only 3 users whose name begins with a Q.
The following list is the alphabet and shows how many users have a name beggening with those letters:
(Note, I'm pretty sure that this is exact, although the numbers are obviously subject to constant change.)
96 A's
79 B's
81 C's
121 D's
62 E's
50 F's
67 G's
39 H's
33 I's
98 J's
48 K's
53 L's
144 M's

176 S's
93 T's
16 U's
26 V's
25 W's
11 X's
11 Y's
13 Z's
2: There are 21 users here who have the word "Monkey" in their name. They are:
3-headed-monkey
CheeseMonkeyC
chunkey_monkey
CMonkey
DMonkey
goldenmonkey

jamiemonkey
magicalmonkey
Monkey

Monkeyman1138

Please feel free to add whatever interesting things you notice around here. But make sure it is true.
(Yes, I'm VERY bored!)
But there's only one Esseb.
Heres a fact:
The week I got my wisdom teeth out, became the week I began reigning title of second highest poster here. Yikes.
i are moron.
good
The most important forum fact ...
Exactly one year ago today (18 - March - 2003) somebody named Darth Mandarb joined the forums.
There have been two other Darths;
DarthGreaser
darth_wader
Apparently the Sith 'rule of two' doesn't hold here ... perhaps it's like Highlander, "There can be only one!"
May the [dark side of the] force be with you.

Correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am), as I counted that there are three active users who have their game main character in their avatar. There used to be four. Right?
My avatar used to be the main character of my game. Now it's a statue in the adventurer's guild of Speilburg from Quest for Infamy.
Raggit, well spotted - there are far too many monkeys, on this AND other adventure game related forums. :D
I'm pondering who Big Gryph Master is. If LGM is little, I cant imagine how big BGM is. Eek.

From now on I have also the main character in my avatar, so I'm your fourth man! ;)
I think there is somebody else here with the name panda...isnt laybout "sexual harassment panda?"

Well, I wasn't complaining or anything, I've just noticed quite a few monkeys and thought it was kinda funny. :)
I, too, used to have my game's main character (Ronald Ganon) as my avatar...when I first transfered over to these forums from the EZBoard forums. Now, my avatar is just...me...frighteningly enough. :P
At least it's 21 monkeys...
and not...
DUN DUN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
12 Monkeys!
/me runs off sobbing about Brad Pit and the Army, and the virus... and Bruce Willis eating spiders.
For those that are scared of flying, the fact is that if you caught a plane anywhere in the world every day of your life, for 40,000 years, you would more likely be in a fatality.
Are you making fun of 12 Monkeys?
here are some interesting facts
1. I first posted in these forums when I was 15
2. I am now 19
3. I have never finished a game
4. no one knows me here
Edit: BTW way when i said these forums i meant EZboard
Cpage, I can't say I know you, but I'm sure I've seen you around as long as I've been here.
Oh, and I love those unnecessary facts and figures threads (I think I even started one myself once). More facts!
Y remember that CJ once made a great studio about the members, with figures like "70 % of the members never has made a post", or "85 % of the members have made less that 10 posts..."
I think it should be cool if CJ rescues that data from his hard drive, I really enjoyed them.
Hehe well I think it's about time I regenerated the Forum Ages graph: ;)
The shape is largely unchanged from last time (9 months ago).
The mean age on the forum has gone up from 21 years 6 months to 22 years 1 month.
And now, just for Farlander: ;D
We have 1578 members, of which:
* 60% have made less than 10 posts,
* including 20% who have never posted.
* 55% do not specify their gender, but of those who do:
* 88% are male, and 12% female
Does this chart include our time traveling friends birthdays?
I'm 22 years and 3 months old...I'm so average.... :'(
edit: maybe you should delete members that havn't made a single post in 2 years. That would clean up the members list. I sometimes check member websites when I'm bored.
I think it automatically deletes a member after so many months if they have not logged in, I remember seeing that somewhere. Maybe it was on a different forum though.
Yeah, if a member doesn't post for 10 months, and has made less than 20 posts overall, they get deleted.
As of RIGHT NOW, (22:55 according to defaul time) there are 86, 554 listed posts. The forum with the most posts (26, 713) is the General Discussion.
The first post recorded in the G.D forum was made by Sylpher at 9:15, 17th April 2003, and was called: "Rock Show: Be there or poop"
Speaking of poop: Since August 2002, there have been 164 references to it (not including this post), most of which are COMPLETELY out of context.
The word 'banana' features exactly 50 times on this board, in 9 different forums
Bah, but the real first posts are all good and gone. I remember Helm, Sutbei and Evenwolf, myself and others trying it out back when chris asked us to test the Yabb for him....
yes. unfortunately we will never know what the REAL first 10 posts were like... unless someone here has an exponentially fan-frigging-tastic memory?
Here's another fact: Helm has not said "Rock out with your cock out" in these forums, as far as I can find.

;D Except for #4, me too.
A more useful fact:[/i]
According to big-boards.com (http://www.big-boards.com/index.php?page=all) the total number of AGS forum members would make up only
0.0003% of the board with more members than any other forum on the internet.
I was looking at the old EZboard forum, and holy crap!! The popups are enough to drive someone insane. Thank goodness for this forum.
oh yeah, RE, Conan O'Brien RULES!!
Thanks to the wonderment of Volmel, we didn't actually have pop ups when we used it.
Come to think of it, thanks to the wonderments of decent browsers, many of us don't have pop ups even now.

Bah, I remember the short-lived (for a day or two) PHPbb forum, that only a few people on IRC ever used.
What did happen to Sutebi anyway? He disappeared again after that initial posting spree on the new forums.
