Title: Irritating trapezoidical full-screen
Post by: Oliwerko on Thu 06/07/2006 22:03:57
Hi, I searched all over the forums but never find a solution, so here is my problem:

If I play the game in window it's too small, of course, so I switch it to fullscreen.
But when the game is fullscreen, it is annoyingly trapezoidical, if you understand.
The game is playable, but it is ugly looking at the game in this form.

Thanks for any help.

Your monitor isn't correctly calibrated for the resolution the game is running in, but that's easy to fix: When playing a game in fullscreen mode, use the buttons on your monitor to adjust the viewable area. Judging by your description you would need to adjust the "keystone" value (if your monitor doesn't have text descriptions, it's the option indicated with a drawing of a trapezoid).

Yup, problem solved.

I thought that when I adjust the monitor in one resolution, it will change in another too.

It would, but for more modern monitors, they can usually memorize a number of mode settings, note also that even at the same resolution if you set it to different refresh rates it's still considered as two separate modes.
