I doubt you're gonna get anything out of taking it to court. Audio jacks are among the parts that break most often on laptops, and most of the time it's the user's fault (getting caught in the cable or forgetting to take off your headphones before getting up from your chair). In your case it seems to be a construction fault on the motherboard if it's been loose since you got it, but unless you can prove this it's your word against theirs - and perhaps more importantly, against the statistics on the most likely causes of such damage.

It sucks, but at least you get part of it covered by insurance (who, at least in my experience, would normally also try to screw you over, so count yourself lucky that they agreed).

Oh, I wouldn't take it anywhere, but the consumer office advised me to saying they'd pay the expenses.

While I've never had quite the level of trouble with Acer you have Tuomas, I'd definitely suddest not going Acer.
Toshiba is good to me though.

Just to let some of you know, I just made the deal and got my 300â,¬ out from the insurance company, no questions asked. I think with that I can get the machine out from there and then maybe buy me a new sound-card... supposedly. Have to check the prices.
