Is this artist "faking" it?

I won't argue that it isn't "art" and certainly not that it's unskilled. However, I tend to enjoy something that brings a new perspective to something or shows someone's vision - not something that's merely a medium-conversion, however talented it may be. Give me Helm's, Andail's, or Pessi's (leaving out a score of names, of course) stuff any day. (A reply while I was typing... I do, however, very much like the man against the wall with the "halo"... that shows a bit more than replication)

Vince, while I like the art you posted, I can tell that it is not a photograph on some of them. I'm sorry if this is making people mad, or turing into a "I know more about art than you so you are ignorant" type thing. I also can easily tell on the 3d images poosted by Mr.C, although they are very good.

But, I still see some issues with credibility for this guy, and nobody has proven otherwise to me yet. I'm not being stubborn here, or trying to offend anyone.

Squinky, I went in and looked at the art and process closely. I've seen more photorealistic art. If I had to assume, this is real. Just another opinion by a guy that has seen a lot of art, take that as you will.

I would say that these are definitely drawings. In several of the pictures, you can see the artistic and technical limitations of the artist. In particular, he has some difficulty with eyes. He uses the same tricks to cover it up over and over again.

You know what, that eye thing struck a chord. I remembered how weird they were. I've checked it out again, and come to two personal conclusions.

1. The poor bastard has had to draw some of the ugliest people on earth, especially all those mutant children.

2. I think I was wrong. There are some images that still do look too good, and not match his style, but I can see it now, I must have been smoking the Crackus. I'm pretty sure he did draw those....so now I swallow my pride and must allow Eric to belittle my manhood and make fun of my mother....

It's still a shit looking web page with "boring ass art"

It did make me realise though that with my friend drawing from photos of me for my album's artwork, whilst they are not 100% accurate and photo-realistic, having looked at these draw4u arts, I'm glad they aint. Here they look too much like photos in greyscale.

I'd show you some of what he's done of me, but they're not finished yet and I haven't fully paid him yet.
