Stop whining, Custard! Or else I'll eat ya.

especially without a comment :|
But that;s because the xbox is stupidly sized.
LOL ROFL LmaO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's called "360" maybe you're supposed to spin it around?
can go horizontal or vertical, just like the ps2, well, that's what i read anyway..
If it's caled 360, wouldn't it be logical for its design to be a circle?
It's called 360 because apparently people associate a higher number with something more powerful, apparently one of the reasons for PS2s success over xbox.. if you believe that kinda thing.. ¬¬

They should of called it "Xbox: Infinity Plus One... na na na na na na." The ultimate console.
Hehe, I've been folowing this for a little bit, and I must say that i don't really like the design much at all. Looks a little cheap to me. The controller looks better in that pic than others I must say though.
Oh yeah and the name Xbox 360 is really very lame. I'm sure it will seem normal soon enough, but taht doesn't stop it being lame.
There's some scrollwheel thingy on the controller so that's probably what the '360' refers to.
As for the design: who cares? The thing has a 9 Ghz processor!! 3x 3.2 Ghz and 512 Mb ram. And Xbox Live will become free too.

The thing has a 9 Ghz processor!!
Which means that all those sucky games will spew their muck onto your screen MUCH FASTER! Waahoooh! ;D

Which means that I'm going to buy this shi*. Waahoooh indeed!
It does not have a 9 Ghz processor. It has a 3.2Ghz CPU, with three cores... completely different, it also has a high end ATI graphics chipset, and 512mb RAM shared with the graphics. It is basically like a current top of the range gaming PC, for gaming purposes, ok, a little faster perhaps.
I will get one, when I can get it for £40 second hand, like all my consoles.
I expect the multi core CPUs are going to encourage more use of physics engines.
As was already mentioned, I think it looks cheap.
And, as was also already mentioned, I think the name is lame.
Maybe they should have called it, "XBox EXTREME" ... oooh how cool would that be!?!
Having said that, I'm still looking forward to seeing what kinds of games they come out with.
Of course, having said that they'll probably ALL be FPS clones of shit we've already seen 100 times.
Quote from: Darth Mandarb on Fri 13/05/2005 16:25:00Maybe they should have called it, "XBox EXTREME" ... oooh how cool would that be!?!
Or, judging by the shape, "XBox Squeeze" would have been appropriate as well. Or "XBox An Elephant Sat On My Console" ... ;D
Oh three cores. I thought 3 processors. Doh!
[EDIT] Well that presentation sucked ass. It just aired here, and it totally made no sense. It has no right to be called a presentation. I already read all that marketing bullshit this afternoon, and I sure wasn't in it for the music.
Never mind the name, which MODEL will you go for. Backwards Compatible, Non-Backwards Compatible...
With hard drive or without hard drive...
Shenanigans! ::). All I've seen so far is a couple of tech demos...the usual hot air that gets pumped out with every console launch.
This generation of consoles is ending far too quickly, if you ask me...but you didn't.
P.s It looks like a water filtration system...and an UGLY water filtration system at that.
since when did consoles have to look pretty?
:D
If they wanted to associate a large number with it, just call it XBox Infinity.. Yeesh.
Are the controllers wireless?
Apparently the whole shebang is wireless.
This looks better than the original Xbox. I dig the new style.
I watched a cool video about the Xbox 360 on Gamespot. This sucker is gonna have one hell of a pricetag when it's released. (I'm assuming, since somebody had mentioned 299 american dollars in the video, but i know it will be alot more)
Video can be seen on link below
http://www.gamespot.com/features/6124293/index.html?tag=nl.e577
Even wireless power supply? Neat!
Yep, runs on one nine volt battery (not included) ;D
Too bad the developers havn't even tapped the possebilities of the current generation of consoles. But I can't but drewl over the possebility of this sweetheart running Elder Scrolls 4 later. Yummie.. on the other hand, no backward compability, no purchase.
All 3 consoles will be backward compatible, ps3 running psx and ps2 games, xbox running 'top selling' games (is that all or will they guarantee stuff like halo2 works) and ninty revolution playing nes all the way to gamecube :D :D
What? The NinRev actually has all slots?
Nope, gamecube games are backward compatible by using the original disk, while the others can be downloaded. I think i read that gamecube games may also be downloadable.
But that is.. illegal..
*roflmao*
The amount of money they will inevitably end up charging for one NES game? Yes.
Do not buy an XBox 360.
The PS3 is going to wipe the floor with the XBox 360.
As for backwards compatibility, "your favourite" (Joe Public's favourite) XBox titles will be ported, and you'll have to download an executable.
Gamecube games being downloadable is pretty unlikely, since it's about 2Gb per game. That would take days at 100k/s. Plus where would it be stored? On the 512Mb flash memory?
It'll play Gamecube games from the disc, the previous consoles' games will be downloadable.
... According to what I've read, anyway.
Yeah they will be downloadable... I'm sure Nintendo won't charge much for them if they do charge anyhting... One of the reasons they have been hesitant in going into the online market is that they don't think that users should have to pay for hte service. And yeah the Revolution will be free online, as will the Xbox 360 (although the free version is quite limited), I'm sure the PS3 is online, but I havn't heard anything else about it.
Basically microsoft is trying to market the 360 to the cool and 'hip' people who watch MTV. Nintendo on the other hand is taking a better more mature approach, imo. They seem to be more on delivering the system and great games rather than hyping it up with fancy numbers.
Heres some pics of the 3 consoles:
Revolution:
edit: Now where did my picture go... IGN... yoohoo...

I think this is the best looking console.
Playstation 3:

Worst. Controller. Ever! Although the console itself looks alright.
Xbox 360:
Well you can see the pic in the first post...
XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 just look like a bunch of mindless jerks who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. ;)
Also, I edited the first post!
... and this one, too. :P
Although the PS3 controller looks weird, there's a very similar shaped pc gamepad which i have been told is awesome
edit: this one (http://www.custardsclutter.com/852096-wingman_gamepad.jpg)
Revolution only looks cool with that plastic basestand, but separated it looks as bland as a coaster. And I worry I'll accidentally pull it over with my controller cable.
360 looks better than the X Box, but thats only because they've realized that symmetry creates aesthetic. But I'm just not hearing enough about the actual device to be impressed.
And its launch games look lame.
PS3 looks aerodynamic, and that is clearly the future of game consoles. At certain angles it looks like a silver football. I just imagine little japanese men running into the endzone with it and spiking the ball in front of Elijah Wood and Bill Gates.
AS someone who has never owned a console, and does not even play games anymore, I like the Nin Rev.
The Revolution looks best, IMO.
The 360 comes a close second, and the PS3... Well... It looks like a printer (http://www.ps3land.com/images/offps31.jpg).
I also find the contrast between the PS3 and the XBOX 360 a bit strange.
PS3 is convex, XBOX 360 is concave...
I'm also rather excited about the Revolution. I'm a bit amused by the fact that what makes me so excited about it is the ability to play OLD games on it, though.
I don't think I could ever buy a console.
I like playing games. In fact, I love games. With a PC I can atleast pretend that I use it do work sometimes too. If I bought a machine made purely for the sake of playing games, all hope would be lost.
(Besides, by the time I next buy a new computer, decent PCs will eat consoles for breakfast again.)

Am I the only one who thinks printers look damn sexy?
In all honesty, getting worked up over the console designs is just ridiculous. I just realized. It's like rooting for Hulk Hogan or Macho Man because one is more intelligent than the other.
It all comes down to the games- I could never buy a console at launch, but I am willing to bet the PS3 will make the games most appealing to me in the end.
There's nothing wrong with saying what you think about the looks of these machines. I personally don't care for any of them much. I'm disappointed with Nintendo though, for trying to look boring and playstationey. When I get one, it's gonna HAVE to be a colour one because the black looks so bland I'd probably forget that Nintendo's fun while looking at.
Though, yes, the most important thing is the quality of the games. This is where Xbox and Nintendo kick ass ^_- Ninja Gaiden, baby!

I didn't say "this console is better than that console because this-and-this looks better", or something.
I was only commenting on the design, what's wrong with commenting about that? :P
Edit: Ack. Didn't see Kinonko's post.
You wanted colour?
Ninio - I did it too.
I felt silly about it and voiced what I thought was a clever analogy.
AND NOW WE SHALL WRESTLE TO SEE WHICH CONSOLE IS SUPRMEE!

Absolutely hilarious.
