Title: Jane Jensen steals ideas from Superman!
Post by: DragonRose on Fri 04/03/2005 17:12:35
Why was it when I first saw this Superman cover, all I could think of was the end of Gabriel Knight 2?

She's playing a lost Wagner opera on that Kryptonian xylophone, I'm sure of it!

More Lois Lane covers:

Replace the 075 with anything from 001 to 137. They're all silly, as are the actual comics - in a momentary fit of madness I read all 137 issues (admittedly, it took me weeks).

Some outtakes here (http://www.bicycle-for-slugs.org/ll/). Some of them aren't as funny without the additional information I gave the people in another community I originally showed these to, but most are.

Example: in the comic advertised by the cover I linked to, a criminal has accidentally given Superman amnesia, and has kidnapped Lois' family to pressure her into acting as some fictitious country's dictator in an absurd scheme to get Superman to look through some giant jewel with his x-ray vision in order to destroy the rebel army so he can keep control of the country and sell it to a foreign superpower for a nuclear attack on the USA. This is by far not the silliest plot I've come across.

Every developer is inspired about something, maybe she was inspired by super man comics, who knows.  ;)

Just out of curiosity, did you happen to come across that cover in I-Mockery?

Perhaps you could explain the ending of GKII so I can join in the hilarity.

LGM:

WARNING, MAJOR SPOILERS FOR GABRIEL KNIGHT 2
Spoiler
The finale of GK2 is the performace of Wagner's "lost opera" (Something you had to learn about and find earlier in the game), which was written with the sole purpose of being able to turn anyone in the audience who is a Werewolf into their wolf form. The purpose of performing this opera is to change Von Glower, the villain of the game, into a werewolf so he can either be captured or killed. But by this point in the game, Gabriel has also become a werewolf, so when the opera is performed, Gabriel gets turned into a wolf as well as Von Glower.

Al_Ninio: Superdickery is actually where I found this cover.  That site is AWESOME

LGM and BT:
Spoiler
For added awesomeness, the evil villain is sitting in a private box, just like Superman is on this cover. YAY!

That psychotical adorable rabbit known as Max would never do such a thing. It must be his evil(heh) twin.
