Anyone else like this film? I think it's a very good sequel. Jaws 3 and 4 suck as we all know but I think the second movie is a real classic. It's on BBC1 right now, just thought I'd ask you guys what you thought of these films.
I'm going to watch it and let you know. I didn't know what was on BBC1. Now I know. thanx ;D
Jaws 2 was a good movie, and i liked Jaws 3 3-D, and the 4th was a piece of crap.
But i still prefer Jaws..
It is funny this was brought up because i was having a discussion about the Jaws movies with a co-worker this morning, and we were talking about Jaws 2, and i kept saying that Jaws 4 was shit. But i did like that part in Jaws 4 when the banana boat was eaten and so were the passengers. It was such a delightful scene. he he.

Jaws 1: A great thriller that continues to inspire oceanic horror.
Jaws 2: A solid sequel, and should have been the only one.
Jaws 3: I remember seeing this in 3D when it first came out, aside from a few neat scenes (the guy's bloody leg falling through the water comes to mind) the effect was weak and was obviously there to try and make the movie less lame. Didn't work.
Jaws 4: Laughably bad. It was nice to see the Last Starfighter again, but was it necessary to kill off Martin and Sean Brody? No. His wife was an extremely annoying substitute.
Jaws 3 was quite bad in effects, as far as I remember, I'd watched a "making of" show on TV in my childhood, that most "undersea" scenes of it were shot indoor without any water, with plastic toys hanging around :P , probably made it easier to make it "3D". As a result, the 3D version was not good either, all I remember was the scene where the shark approached and crashed the glass, it just looked like a paper cutout moving towards the screen...
While I always say effects don't make a movie, but for a thriller, if the scenes can't convince the audience how real they looked and make them excited, it's more like a comedy than a horror film.
If I had the BBC, I would watch Doctor Who all day....
I was very disappointed when Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments said Jaws was the scariest film ever. It was a shark that ate people. I used to live on an island, and sharks ate people all the time, not to mention Portuguese Man o' Wars stinging and poisoning people, Skunks farting their disgust all over people and making them horribly ill, an anthrax scare that made it so I was locked inside a Supermarket for two days, religious zealots beating a kid up because he proclaimed on public television that he liked "the rock and roll music," and an insane killer who tore his stepdaughter to shreds after raping her and left her body all over the house for her mother to find.
Ã, Ã, Real life is scarier than the movies...
oops, I forgot to post on topic: I never saw any of the sequels. I never watch sequels. All sequels to is pull great movies into stupidity.
Watched it! Again! Last night! Yes it was cool! It was nice! It would've been so easy to find a solution for the kids but yet no one thought of anything.
Well, how else make a movie with suspense...
By 'finding a solution for the kids' I hope you meant to make them watch Jaws 2 to shut them up and NOT meaning that a solution for the kids would be to feed them to a Great White shark? ;)
I've never seen Jaws 2 (as I said) but I'm pretty sure Nik is talking about in-movie kids... Pretty sure. He only has one himself....

hehe, and he's not even two. And he doesn't talk yet. It would be a crime to make him watch a two hour movie at 23:00 hours. Not to mention that I would give him nightmares for the rest of his life. Although I'm not sure that kids his age do have nightmares, yet...
I was talking about the kids in the movie, who had all kinds of chances to escape but, what do you know, didn't. Most movies are stupid in these kind of things. It's like someone pressing Freeze and suddentely or supporting actors can't do shit for themselves, until the hero comes... This kind of thing I was talking about.
But this is a good idea. When my son refuses to eat I'll fead him to the shark to teach him a lesson! ;D
Yes, that would make much more sense...Think Daz, think!!!
Lol, I think feeding children to big fish is illegal Nick :)
