It's starting to bubble and get gross.
Ow.

I've got this green slop that I've been slathering on, but it gets absorbed pretty fast and just leaves me all sticky.

I've got some burn cream that I got over the summer when I was burned by some really hot soup. I'll send it via IRC.

Put some vinegar on it. It burns like you wouldn't believe for the first few minutes but after that it's nice cool feeling. Plus it won't peel.

whether or not this is an approved medical technique is up for deabte, but this works and feels really really good.

1 get some aloe vera.

2 put it in the fridge.

3 take a hot shower.

4 slather yourself in the chilled aloe vera.

reapeat step 4 as needed.

this has given me the best results, and my beautiful brown skin will back me up.

Buy twenty air conditioners, face them all towards you, turn them onto the highest setting, and stay like that for the whole day.  Then at night, rub refrigerated Jello all over yourself.  Also, sleep in your tub.  Make sure it's filled with frozen vanilla pudding.  When you wake up, take a cold shower, then take a nap in the freezer.  When you wake up, the burnt skin should be ready to fall off.  When it falls off, rub a bottle of Insta-Skin over those areas.  Then, go to your local insane asylum because you're a psychopath if you followed these instructions.

I'll meet you at Claymoore!

If you are a brave man take as Hot of a shower as you humanly can stand. It hurts...Oh man does it hurt but you will feel great after the numbness leaves!

(I'm serious I have gotten many a Sun burns here in the valley of the sun and the best cure is a Hot shower...REALLY hot. Don't let your skin melt off or anything but as hot as you can take)

taryuu

a-ha! step 3.

have you tried aloe??  it takes away the pain after the shower, and leaves creamy aloe goodness.

Be careful as you might be alergic to aloe vera and not know it. There are such things as sunburn gels but they barely help. DO NOT use sour cream or butter that shit makes it worse.

Be careful with the gels and shit if the burn is on flesh that needs to contracts and strech alot, like say on joints. When it dries it just makes it worse.
I've been burnt badly enough on my legs as to prevent me walking. You fancy northerners with your "Ozone Layer".

i saw this prog the other night and there was this girl who had got the sap from a hogweed on her skin, which made it ultra sensitive to UV rays and she got killer sunburn, it was so bad on her arms that they actually removed the skin to allow new stuff to grow...
if it's really bad the best thing to do is go see a doctor or it might get infected...

Just cut off the limb that is sun burned and grow a new one.  Very simple.

I don't know, since I simply don't care to cure these things. I got burnt pretty badly some weeks ago, and most of my skin on shoulders and arms just peeled off, but the skin under was also brown and nice, so I don't suffer from it.

DragonRose

Noxema! Slather it on as needed, and take a cool shower to wash it off if it feels to sticky. And don't go outside.  Ever again. The sun is evil with it's magic burning powers. :(

I've all ways though aloe vera as the best thing to use for sun burns and contepation...then afterwords sit infront of an open with boxers. Underwear touches the skin way too mcuh.

rodekill

Thank you all.

I've extrapolated that my best course of action would be to drench myself in various lotions and semi-solids. I will try them all in turn, and then all at once for good measure.

What cures even the most palid skin from sundeath you ask? Vitamin E, my friend. Natures cure. just keep putting it on...

Quickstrike

This won't help the sunburn, but it feels good and stops the pain for a little,  Put your shirt in the freezer, then put it on.  It feels goooooooooood...

Wait till you peel, then start trying to peel off as bigger pieces as possible, then see if you can see through it, that'a the best way to deel with it,

The pain can be bad, other than trying not to irritate it, I wouldn't recomend putting anything on it as it probably is a placebo, or will lead to infection, although if the placebos mentioned work (it means it's all in your head[as a placebo obviously is]) a burn is a burn, any oily substance can cause more harm than good.

learn from your yearly mistake, and remember prevention is better than a cure

Lucky bastard, it's going into winter here, (probably similar to summer in canada)

(Try) not to irritate it...

How the heck is peeling off your flesh not irratating!!!! :o

Also, no one has recommended oil, but instead we've recommended lotions, many of which contain aloe, vitamin E or both, both of which have been proven to aid in rebuilding skin after a burn, sun or otherwise.
