I've been trying to remember the name of an adventure game I played once many a year ago. I can't remember the name, but it was, as far as I remember, about a spy called John English (I think. Or John Smith. I'm fairly certain it was 'John'). It actually had the classic computer-generated voice over the text in the game, which I remember loving. It was text command based, and probably graphics from around the same time as Codename:ICEMAN. Again, from memory... I really am not sure.
At one point, you had to do something like get a man's suitcase, and I'm fairly sure you had to get into a locker at a bank. I also have a memory of getting caught by the 'enemy' and having to get out of a caveUnfortunately, there's not a lot more info I can give about it, I played it so long ago. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

In America it was released as a James Bond game, but apparently the character was called John Glames in the European version.
Ah, Operation Stealth, this looks like it! Thanks ^_^ Geez, I just searched for an hour at Underdogs and never came across this. I definitely had the European version... I had no idea they turned it into a James Bond game. Ridiculous @_@
Ah, good ol' Operation Stealth. I thought it was tense and atmospheric as all hell when I was a kid, and I still think there's some really good stuff in it (never knew about this pseudo-vocal version, though.). But when I played it again a while back it hadn't aged too wonderfully in some respects. One of those adventures that's hardly any fun without a walkthrough nearby - some REALLY unfair dead ends in there.
...Operation Stealth had voices (real or not)? Can't remember my version having them. Great game though, if buggy.
I don't think it had voices, no. Me, I did enjoy the game, but it never interested me enough to keep me going past those arcade sequences. Bleh.
I remember me and my friends years ago playing it for hours and days and we always got stuck. We could just never finish it. Of course we didn't have a walkthrough or an internet connection back then, so that would explain why we didn't finish it, but I remember it as being very hard.
I really loved the graphics, of course they're not that nice compared with nowadays standards, but Delphine has always done good stuff.
