Title: Knytt
Post by: FruitTree on Sat 24/03/2007 16:47:54
I was surfing 'round the big ol' world wide web looking at some ICO forum when I found this game.

the Knytt is a small monkey like creature abducted from his homeworld by an alien only to crash on an unknown planet scattering 11 parts from the alien spaceship, it's up to you to gather those lost parts so you can go home again!

easy story, easy gameplay, easy graphics, hours of fun and wonder!

anyone ever played this one before?

Hmm, sounds a lot like Toe Jam and Earl (ahh, memories!) but i've never heard of it.  Got any screenshots?

Yeah it's pretty popular among AGSers, worth a play if you haven't tried it. If you like it check out the guy's previous game Within a Deep Forest, even though it's different in most ways.

knytt is one of my favorite games that I've played in a long time and I hope to be able to do something like it soon.

I played Seiklus a year ago and loved it but then Knytt came out and I love it more

That was an awesome game, thanks for sharing.

I don't know if I've ever played in a more massively detailed world than this in a single game, and it all comes together beautifully.
It took me about 30 minutes to realize the whole game was a giant maze, and that got me somewhat frustrated, but the huge scope and awesome-factor more than make up for it.

yessah! I got nothing planned for the next 2 weeks except school examns and tntb and maybe I can squeeze in some sleep ;)

in the meantime you go play knytt! it rocks!

---EDIT---

I only finished the game just now! and I gotta say it's nothing but sheer brilliance.
it's so much fun to explore the world and so exciting when you find new territories!
I liked it better then seiklus wich is also very nice :)

I wasn't overly impressed with Knytt, but WADF is very well made!

I can see some of its appeal, with its minimalistic, cute appearance and slightly desolate, almost melancholic environment. I guess the "puzzles" are pretty smart too.

But all the praise it's got made be expect much much more. I collected 6-7 treasures or something, and most of the gameplay so far was just about running around a huge maze and trying to remember how to move in a strategic manner.
I guess I'm not much into the stylistic flash-like kind of games; I prefer games with lots of dialogue and plot and cumbersome inventories :)

I'm guessing you really enjoyed The Longest Journey, then.
