Just watched it, it's awesome that this has gotten so much attention :)
Kony is clearly a great villain, and I'm glad to have been made aware of him. I was aware of the practices of African warlords, but not of his name or the scale of his crimes.
However, I found this film to be self-important and patronising. Is the solution really for America to fix it? By funding the Ugandan army to fight against child soldiers? Is that really the feel-good solution they're selling?
This Guardian gathers a range of views here (http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/reality-check-with-polly-curtis/2012/mar/08/kony-2012-what-s-the-story), and there are enough questions and complexities raised to make me cautious about throwing in with Invisible Children.
Yeah... like many people, until yesterday I'd never even heard of Joseph Kony. But unlike many people, I did a quick cursory bit of research and decided against jumping on the bandwagon. I found a lot of underlying distrust toward Invisible Children. I don't disagree that he did some evil things and should pay for that, but this whole 'KONY 2012' campaign just smells a bit off. I won't be donating, no matter how hard Twitter begs me.
IMHO, if humanity needs to pick a video to follow it has to be Charlie Chaplin's goosebumped speech from the Great Dictator.

Since Kony hasn't been in Uganda for six to seven years it seems pretty likely that any money donated to Invisible Children would literally have no chance of helping stop his operations if that's where their "aid" is based.

That Kony guy have more than 10,000 liters of Anthrax. You know each liter can produce million of lethal doses. And don't forget the Yellow cake he acquired from Nigeria.
Anyway, he's hemophillic and he oftenly kill virgins to drink their blood. He also eats babies. We have satellite picture showing that he's ready to invade all surrounding countries. He's into drugs traficking. He killed his brother. He's s sexist and a misogynist. He's pro-PIPA and SOPA.
We should do something before we found his boats sailing in the New York Harbor or before he launchs VX chemical warheads over London with LESS THAN 45 MINUTES warning.

The kidnapping of children to use as soldiers or prostitutes is inexcusable, fighting against children enemies is something no soldier should have to face. What would be the best solution to rescue these children and free them from this horror?
