Team Structure

We have been around for 3 years now and currently our team is conformed of about 50 persons at the moment.

The team is structured in 5 essential departments, each one with a Director and an Assistant Director:

Design/Writing: Which basically already did their work

Art: this is the biggest department, probably with about 2/3 of the whole team falling under this category. This includes all the artists we have in almost all mediums: Modelers, Texturers, Lighters, Unwrappers, Sketchers, Digital Colorists, Animators, CGI artists, etc.

Programming: A small but highly reliable team of 5 persons, making the game work. This department is heavily involved with the 3D artists.

PR-Team: Everything Web and Public Relations. From web designers to forum moderators. These are the guys that get us out there, and that hmmm, should be doing this ;) But it's all fine, I just wanted to do it myself this time.

Music: Not only music, but all SFX designers and voices related stuff fall under this category. We held auditions last year at NYC and we have a full cast. Currently, we are recording and mixing all of this voices.

I suppose I need to ask the most important question ...

Is this being created in AGS?

You mention Maya/Torque/etc..

I searched your website, but couldn't find mention of AGS?

If this isn't an AGS game it doesn't belong in the "AGS Games in Production" forum and I will move it to the Adventure Related Talk & Chat where it belongs.

Also, if you're actively seeking new members, try the ACR Thread (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=19971.0) as well.

Right Darth, it's made with Torque (http://www.garagegames.com/mg/projects/tge/), I remember this from the chat.

Also, I actually didn't know that AGS can handle 3D scenes, a hidden feature?  ???     :o     ;)

Those screens look like The Sims.

i thought this project was practically finished, why the sudden cry for help?

They said part 1 is nearly finished, but need help with part 2.

Anyway, since this is not an AGS game it should not be posted here.

why don't they keep the same team for the second part?

that will make it almost seem like a different game altogether.

Maybe some people had to drop. Or, the first part went slower than they wanted it to go. Maybe part 2 is bigger. As long as the project leaders remain the same, the vision for the project should progress along the same path.

I'm totally confused, I though KQIX would've been nearly finished by now. Looks like they've switched engines, but it also looks very purdy. Chessboard land...

It's really not a sudden cry for help. We are always in the search of talented people to join the team. It only means that we'll get more resources to make the art look even better.

As for a different look, I'm not worried about that. We have many different talents working on many different screens. At the end, it's just a matter of a consistent Art Direction, which we have :)

And by the way, no one said the game was finished. The release date for Part 1 is still this Winter. as we previously announced it. Brace yourselves ;)

yes, unfortunetaly, we just finished the whole casting for part I.

The bigger roles were cast and recorded in NYC (we held auditions last year in the city), and then we also wanted to cast some online peeps, so we did that and we just finished the casting.

But, if you are a texturer, programmer (with torque knowledge), animator, 3D modeler, sketcher or digital colorist, APPLY! :D

Cesar, now that the basic groundwork for KQIX has been [nearly] completed, how long do you expect the production for the second part to take? I ask because I would be interested in doing programming but would like to know what kind of time commitment there would be.

By the way, KQIX has really come a long way - it looks gorgeous now! I would love to see a video of this baby in action.

Jason,

thanks for the words :)

our goal is to finish part 2 in between 1 to 1 year and a half. We've learned a lot with part 1, so it will definetely take shorter for part 2.

You can join now and help in programming for part 1. We are scripting like crazy :)
