[paid] Looking for a programmer

I always think of these forums when I'm looking for anything... I mean there are probably tons of forums to look for a coder, but I would largely prefer to pay someone in here...

So, this is a paid gig.

I can't say much about the project, suffice to say that it's VERY serious, rather big, etc, etc... I won't be able to enclose any further details to anyone without a strict (believe me) NDA signed.

The general idea

I want to create what is mainly a playback software, with a few extra editing capabilities (like crossfade, change track, volume control and perhaps an EQ and Reverb, ALL automated (not user controller (the listener), but programmer controller (the composer or the user of the program)).

More ideas to be discussed involve:
a. the above program made like a plug-in for other software.
b. the above program made to work real-time
c. the above program made to work through a website (online).

And all this needs to be possible to be exploited commercially (so no 'free' libraries for non commercial purposes, etc).

I will have my laywer draft an NDA which should be ready in a few hours I reckon (my kid's staying home, because of illness, which is slowing down things immensly), and after that it's all set...

If you can understand what I'm talking about roughly and can offer a quote, please PM me. If you want more details you can wait for the NDA to be ready, to send you the NDA,  print it, scan it and send it back and then we're cool.

Thanks for reading...

Hay Nikolas,

while I'm not offering myself, there is one question that I feel should be answered for both your own convenience and that of possible candidates. And the best thing is: the question can be answered without any NDA problems...

Do you already have the mathematical/statistical algorithms, and is it thus mainly the implementation thereof, or would the coder have to develop said algorithms, or would he (or she) work in collaboration with a mathematician/statistician to develop and implement these algorithms?

I don't think there's much to do with 'complex' algorithms.

I mean, the 'how to' go about to do what I want, is already there, so... I can't be sure of how specific a coder will need things, but I can provide a 'flow' of how the program will ultimately work... Is this what you mean or something more specific?

Calin Leafshade

both EQ and Reverb (and any other DSP) is all algorithmic and not simple.

and to sound good those algorithms are not trivial (compare something like freeverb to some pro reverb and you'll see what I mean)

hem...

this doesn't mean I can't get a license from (say...) steinberg and use THEIR reverb and THEIR EQ. So in this case we are talking about VST connection rather than creating from scratch a reverb and an EQ... ;)

Unless mistaken, but I'm not insane! ;D (I mean I'm not insane to be asking for someone to design from scratch a reverb and an EQ (especially if I want them to sound good!)

It'd be best to find a programmer who also really understands music equipment (amps, effects racks, etc.) because then he could find a reverb tank or amp that makes the kind you want, and he could more easily replicate it with numbers. Audiophiles are crazy like that.

I wish I knew how to do it, sounds awesome.

hmm...

I don't think that I'll need any knowledge of advance effects and stuff, except for some reverb, etc, and I would hope to be able to provide any explaining on those effects...

The tricky part would be to make the software have VST connectivity with another plug-in and let it offer the default settings with each playback... (different ones of course).

It's very uplifting to see such interesting, even if I've not given much information really. :) Honestly.
