Oh Iran,
sort yourself out mate.
Right on! They should ban all that metro stuff everywhere!
"Meanwhile newspapers in Iran have quoted the police as saying that 16,000 women and 500 men have been cautioned in the last week over their improper clothing."
Balanced.
Wow. Iran badly needs to wake up and smell the roses... If they carry on harrasing their people like this, some idiotic politician might have the bright idea that they're an oppressive regime that need's to be replaced. Damn politics...
Has anybody else noticed that the news events of the last 5 years been going around in circles? Country gets blamed for causing destabilisation/terrorism --> Country gets villanised by press --> Country gets invaded by western forces --> Country destabilised --> Country gets blamed for causing destabilisation --> Country gets villanised by press...
This is a prime example of why I feel that alot of news corporations are being manipulated by political entities... Gah! Must avoid political rant...

Eh, 400 years ago and you had Puritans. Social trends will probably remain cyclical.

Sorry to get off-topic, but actually it's a myth that the Puritans wore really drab clothes, but actually quite the opposite--they wore bright, colorful garments. And also... why do you think they had such large families? Just dispelling a common myth.
It's pleasing to hear that some governments take care of the really important issues.
Is that comparable to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_law_on_secularity_and_conspicuous_religious_symbols_in_schools)?
Its just so they can recognise the "spys" more easily when War breaks out this summer :/
Iran is being demonised by Western Media more and more over the last year for the most rediculous shit.
A cynic might say, that there won't be a war with Iran before the 2008 elections. ::)
