Title: Long Lost AGS Folk
Post by: on Tue 22/02/2005 16:01:52
I'd sure like to know where the heck these induviduals went, I'm sure other people miss them and others too, right? ;)

- Mike Doak (circa 2003) Where are you! & what is your contact email address?
- Abstauber (circa 2001, project - The Vestibule)
- Bubba Chump (circa 2000) I swear you were going to make a space game with awesome bgs!

And should anyone have news or contact info for;
- Kittywisdom, J Lumbruso OR anyone previously involved in DOTT2
I'd love to know!

And, if you are an AGSer of the past please say HELLO again :) Otherwise I'll consider you all dead :D

Bubba!!!!!! He is the guy that made all those tutorials, right? He didn't seem to want more than 256 colour support. Maybe he left in disgust afterwards?

It must be the same one :)

There is only one reference left to Bubba Chump, and that is an additional credit he has for an AGS game listed on mobygames, lol!

Is it really possible to make a sequel to a sequel title?  ???

Funky!

Kinda like, "Maniac Mansion 2: Day of the Tentacle 2"?

LGM yey! Good to see you're here - you've been keeping active on these forums lately though haven't you? :D

MonkeySpank! Hello dar! How are you?

Scid is on MSN :D

I've also figured that AGS has featured in so many magazines now some famous people have probably popped by too!!1

Chrille and Helm hang around in other places, but 2ma2 is just gone...
I also miss the rest of GAC.

Yeah, I must have sent Trap a song request for him to make a future game of mine the day after he 'left' cause I never got a response, and he never came back.

Sucks. Miss his flash work, and his music remixes.

2ma2 was always a kind of a role model to me. Or is it a row model?
I'm pretty sure he didn't have any oars.

Usually this emotions come with the game you first play (or amongst the first). That PD and Kenny Rogers changed my life and view at this community FOREVA!!!11!

I think a pretty big part of this community has PD as their first AGS experience and source of inspiration. At least the semi-old generation.
People already knew that you could make wacky, humourous games, 2ma2 proved that you could do beautiful and professional-looking games as well.
He did a tremendous job in that way.

Later Chrille came around to show how a scary, thriller game could be done.

That's what makes some people big; they break new ground.

Yup, PD was my first, and my favorite. Simple graphics, great story, perfect puzzles and all seeming very professional.

2ma2 was on #ags sometime during the fall, can't remember when exactly.  He promised to come back in a few months.

As for Michael Doak.. correct me if I'm wrong, but he's the creator of Fatman, right?  Well, he's been somewhat recently involved in the Space Quest community, starting up a fanproject.  As for the current moment, I don't think anybody's heard from him in a month or two.

I don't see why no one can find Mike. He posted in this thread earlier today: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=19243.0

I always talk to to Trap(ezoid) and Rode(Shawno) on the messenger, so they're still around...

Now, where the hell is Chrille? I remember last year you could see that he was in the users online list, but he would never post!

I miss Rode too. I enjoyed his posts and his site and his games.

I'd also love Phil Reed to come back and continue to make games. But that is only a dream, he's too busy doing other things i think.

I keep most of the old timers locked safely in my basement while I figure out how to clone their brains...

... ok, so the brain thing was a lie.

Seriously, alot of the old timers are on my MSN list.   I know several of them have full time crareer track jobs, or are in school to get career type jobs  and a few of them sit around playing counter-strike for days on end.

except for rodekill, him I actually keep in my basement on a steady diet of homeless people and cheap gin untill he finishes Rodekill 2, and makes the rust spin-off game I really want.

The homeless people are a little leathery, but the gin is what keeps me going.

Hey everyone!
Man, this topic's kinda depressing. I've been gone for a few months, but no one's noticed. lol
Let's all hope that these 'goners' will return someday. :)

Yeah, 2ma2 was on #ags few months back. He said he will be coming back in... few months.

Chrille is really busy with school and will be for several months. I've been talking to him on MSN every now and then so he is still alive. He updated his website some time ago btw.

Last I heard about Pessi was that he got a job but that's all I know.

Does anyone still remember Ed20? Too bad Quirk Pantaloon was never finished. Then there was Mikko who was helping me with Goldlagoon, but he too disappeared. And Vargtass hasn't been around in a while. And...

I miss Remixor, Deadworm, Kingzjester, Erwin_BR and Yufster. Oh wait, no I don't. (http://forums.idlethumbs.net)

I do miss Trapezoid though.

Erwin_Br still posts here on occasion. Kingzjester and deadworm never really posted here. Remo is a traitorous bastard though.

if anybody's wondering, I'm still here! Yes, the most respected elder in all of AGS history is still here, wandering the streets of Southeastern massachusetts, scrounging up enough change for a double latte.

(That, of course, was a joke... I'm really NOT "all here" ;))

Aye, Vargtass disappeared strangely into the night after the Swedish Mittens, which is a great shame because he's a great guy...

Ed20 made a RON game, didn't he..?

On the subject of wondering where Yufster is, for the record; where is Yahtzee??/!!1

2ma2 was good at drawing, programming (he reinvented walking in platformius), music AND sports. To top it all of, he was a nice guy that gave good advice.
I feel guitly for having more posts then 2ma2.

At m1ttens, Vargtass (a.k.a. machine elf) talked about a turn based strategie game he was making in AGS. It sounded interesing, but then he left.

Where is Neole? 2dadventure image hosing is downÃ,  :'( (yay, it works again) :)
And Erica McLane? Thanks for the nice plug-ins.

Yahtzee? Although rumour goes that he still lurks the forums.

Annie never made an impresion on me. I guess you had to be very active in #ags for that.

Yahtzee works for AGers Underground (http://www.adventuregamers.com/underground). It's likely that he does view these forums, since his job would involve doing so, but I think his anonymity is kinda understandable...
