Does anyone know a good ( = free ) Amiga-emulator for pc?

AndersM

Downloaded and installed, but it says I need 'Kickstart 1.3'
or 'diskfile in df0 not compatible with kickstart replacement'

maybee I don't know how to use it...

You'll have to do a search for kickstart roms if you want to use it.  You will probably need a few, 1.3, 3.0, and 3.5 to use most of the games.

But seeing as the kickstart roms are illegal.. We can't really tell you where and how to get one.

And of course, you need to own the original Amiga games to play the roms ;)

But if I have a downloaded Amiga-game (that NOT is protected by copyright anymore, of corse ) in a amiga-file-formate, how do I play it? or do i have to search the wardrobe for my old amiga-floppys? But I never had a kickstart-disk then...

I think the kickstart's a file IN the Amiga itself. You just have to copy it into your PC. How to do it? Don't ask me. I never owned an Amiga, I was an Atari-guy! Muahahaha!

Says the guy who has a gagillion illegal MP3s on his harddisk.

As for kickstart ROMs, here's a tip: try googling "kickstart +ROMS", then do some hunting. I found several versions in only a few minutes.

Afterwards, read the WINUAE instruction manual fully so you know how to get everything working.

After you have the kick start roms try Amiga in a box (an add on for WinUAE) it brings the best compatibility for Amiga roms and installs a nice GUI for workbench I think you may need the workbench disk roms aswell can't remember. Anyway get it at http://aiab.emuunlim.com/

As for amiga games... go to www.back2roots.org
Those roms there are legal downloads, and they sure have bloody many of 'em. They ask the creators of the games if they can publish them.

There are even some Sierra games (QFG2). There's no Lucas Arts games for download though, which isn't surprising at all.

Go to www.thenationnet.com to find a HUGE supply of ROMs. I currently have a NES,SNES,N64,PS1,GBA,GBC,ARCADE, and GENESIS emulators. I have like everygame for each one too, well except for arcade, those are huge downloads, like 20MB to 80MB some are.

Yet they have no Amiga roms....

Oh.. damn sorry man.
