I'm for the title of a movie I've seem some time ago. the movie could easily be 15 years old, but I'm not sure.
It's about a little boy, who has a sickness that keeps him small. He's around 12 years.
On school the boys tease him and his life kinda sucks, but he himself has got a faith.
He's telling all the time "I'm going to be a hero!" People don't believe him.
At a certain moment they have schooltrip and the bus get's in the water. Most of the children get out, including this boy, but a young boy is still in the bus and will soon be drown. Then this little boy jumps in again, and because he's so tiny, he can go through the window of the bus to rescue the boy.
He's very cold and lies in the hospital. Another girl comes to him and tells him that he's a hero. A few moments after that the kid dies.
Does anyone know this movie, or could you look for the title, I'm not sure if it's very popular know movie. Thanks in advance!
Simon Birch ;D

Hey yeah I remember watching that!
Wow that movie was a classic. Hell, I remember watching that in Belgrade for a school trip.
Thanks alot, now I'm going to look somewhere to buy it!
Yeah our youth-group watched that movie once.
In my opinion it was kinda lame and really badly done ....
BOOBS!
Heh.
...
I'm just going to hope that's a movie reference...
It is :)
That movie really really really sucked ;D
well whatever your opinion is, im going to buy it anyway :P I can remember that I liked it, and IMDB gives it a 6.9, so enough reason to buy it :)
It sucks if you're someone who doesn't like to get in touch with his feelings every now and again, yes.
Looks like one of those films that touch people a lot, but this people say it sucks for not looking like sissies. :)

I thought...
... It's a Wonderful Life was touching.
... Cinema Paradiso was touching.
... The Pianist was touching.
... Simon Birch sucked.
I can't help with but agree with DG. I've been 'touched' by many films (I cried in Star Wars goddammit!) but Simon Birch was a really bad film! I mean, I'm like a serious christian as well, but still the movie sucked.
I haven't seen it...
But I can't avoid crying when the Ewoks'song enters and Star wars finishes... :'(
Well it's been 5 years since I've seen it, but I do remember liking it. But maybe it does "suck."
I agree with DG. I've been touched by many movies, but Simon Birch really werent anything special. :P
Midgets are fun to look at.
;D
There are lots of movies I remember watching either as a kid or as i've grown up and thought wow they were amazing films, and occasionaly I go back and think... wow that film sucks. Like the film "Labrynth" I watched it as a kid and loved it, now I have to say it's one of my all time most hated films ever.
Ah... Simon Birch. I read the novel the movie is based on (called "A Prayer For Owen Meany"), and I have to say that I liked the novel much better. It also happened to be somewhat graphic.
I can't believe somebody read the book and thought "hey, this would make a perfect family film!"
Family Movies=Cheap to Make= $$$
Hollywood's a business, kids. Don't let artistic romanticism fool you into thinking otherwise.
Simon Birch is the kind of movie that doesn't subtly touch the soul - it reaches through your freakin' chest plate, grabs your heart by the ventricles, and squeezes until you cry.
Bt
I rememeber watching it at my friends house. Everyone else had seen the movie, but I was watching it downstairs with a friend before the rental was due back.
Spoiler alert below.
This girl comes down the stairs near the end and says "Did he die yet?". Not only disrespectful for the poor kid, but ruined the ending for me.
No! You're all wrong! It was the movie "Jack" with Robin Williams!

Iam sure there is some law that is against touching oneself in movies ... :D
Anyway do what you must.. ;) I can remember alot of movies that I felt was worth
while and then alot they I wanted to sue the movie company for wasting my time...
Hey can probably do that too! (Only in america) ;D
