Title: Mad cheap 3D Software - Save $1,150
Post by: Chicky on Tue 15/02/2011 14:04:36
Okay, there's only 10 hours left of the promotion. Some of you may have already spotted this but i'm a bit late on the update.

I'm no 3D guy but this offer may benefit some of you so i figured it worth a post.

Pre-purchase Messiah Studio 5 for just $10 or $40 for pro version, a saving of $1,150.

Sketchup for life yo!!

That does look cool though (I check some of the vids/galleries).

If only I hadn't just dropped 1200 USD on next week's cruise... ;)

One question, since I'm 3d stupid:

My wife is an architect. Will this software be of any use to her? I mean I might just get it in case I ever want to animate my name and everything, but because Darth mentioned sketchup, which IS also for architecture, I thought that it might be cool to get her that...

Do let me know, please!

Sketchup is great Darth, that and Hammer Editor are about as far as my 3D skills have ever gotten.

That said i have decided to make the plunge and pay the $40 for the pro version, it would be a great resource for SFX in my films and a fun learning experience.

Obi, glad i could help  :)

Nikolas, it seems to be a high profile 3D software, they claim the film industry guys use it. I'm not sure what that means for your wife but they have some lovely render modes for lighting etc. She could possibly import her models and render them in this program, if i understand 3D right.

I'm something of a Blender fanboi myself, but it's always great to see 3D modeling app developers give discounts for ambitious artists. :)

It looks like it's specifically geared towards character modelling and animation, so I don't think it will be very useful to an architect. However, $10 is not a big deal and there's little to lose. I threw in $40 for the Pro version, and I'll probably not regret this.

I bought it since I've been wanting to get back into 3D stuff and this is a great deal.

Is this still available for purchase? The progress bar says the offer ended but 10 and 40$ paypal links are still down there.

If you had tried it before, then most likely yes. The link is STILL there, but I don't know if it still works.

I'm saying this because when I ordered it the remaining time was -17 hours. Of course, I didn't notice the '-' sign and proceeded with the purchase. I only noticed it when I visited the same link later to show someone and it said -40 hours left. However, I now have a valid pro license!

I ordered it after the offer expired and they sent me a license, so I imagine as long as the orders go through it will still work.
