Title: Making floorplans
Post by: Calin Leafshade on Thu 25/03/2010 15:42:37
Does anyone know of any good, free (preferably open source) software which allows you to draw quick maps/floor plans?

I was thinking of using it to design an adventure game. Just to see if its better than my current system.

My Mom is an interior designer, she said she's used these two in the past but they didn't do what she needed. I don't know anything about them:

Does anybody know if it's possible to position the camera a bit more fluidly one floorplanner.com? I can't figure it out.

What do you mean with fluidly? You can click around to shift the view. That's about it, I think. It takes objects away while panning because they take too long to render.

Like I want to setup the camera in the corner of the room... I guess that's not possible with this, though. =P

Why not? I just tried it. Go to 3D, click somewhere, move the camera into the corner. Done! :D

You can zoom in with your mouse wheel or the controls in the top left corner.
