Malware through MSN

For a couple of days, some of my mates have been sending me messages like this:

**Franzi** says:
Have you seen this girl! Take look please.
http://20336.vrihedasomethinghereandtheresunmdecin.cosoitnhm/54aer8/8287/blurghblurghblääghbläägh

And all those kinds that link to malware etc. Now when I try reply, they seem to be offline. So I was wondering is it probable, that someone has taken over their account and is spamming me with malware, or has people allied against me? I've never seen this happen before with MSN, and I'm actually glad AntiVir looks after MSN too since it's a great way of fooling people, who would suspect their friend that connect them via messenger. Even though I'd never think a girl like her would send me pictures of girls, so I didn't open it, but the first one I did a way back, basically because we often send links with MSN.

My friend was spamming me when I was talking to him, and he didnt know what I was talking about.. when probed, it turned out he had NO firewall NO anti-virus and NO anti-spyware installed. He thought it was a load of rubbish. This guy can make flash websites and didn't have any pc guards!

I went round his house and convinced him to let me make his PC safe.

Coincidence or not, he stopped spamming! So, how safe are your friends computers? Or maybe it's yours? Or maybe it was mine? i have no idea.....

Is that the actual link that was sent to you? If so I think we'd all appreciate it if you removed it.

Sorry mate, unconsiderate, I changed it.

I remember several friends downloading a program that claims to find out if someone is blocking you or something and their MSN conversation windows would start with a load of advertising crap.  The truth is simply that many more people use MSN than know what malware is.

I have over 100 contacts in my msn list, and only one of them have sent me some shit. Mostly I get messages like this from random people (robots probably).
I am just a shallow stereotype, so you should take into consideration that my opinion has no great value to you.

THis used to happen more frequently than it does now, to me.

But isn't it standard net-safety practice? If, out of the blue, someone starts talking to you and immediately gives you a link, out of the blue, with little info, you ask them about it. :P

Not for some though, I tend to spam my friends with fun links all day long without saying anything.
