Title: Mario Kart Wii - Snake wants to recruit AGS friends!
Post by: Snake on Fri 19/02/2010 15:43:42
Boy, the How to make badass awesome backgrounds for your AGS game thread blew up rather quickly, no?

Alright, I've finally got this game after waiting since last May when my wife borrowed it from a friend at work. She said she was going to get it for me for Christmas, but since then it had been sold out EVERYWHERE. Didn't get it until last weekend. the whole househole got the flu a couple days later. Long story.

Anyway, I've been a huge Mario Kart fan since Super Mario Kart. Any AGSers have MKW and want to swap friend codes?

I know Boyd's got it at least. Please PM me with your codes!

I would, but my Wii's wireless seems to be broken for some reason. :(

Damn you, Phemar! Damn you to HELL! ...or at least your wireless connection ;)

I played a little bit online yesterday and ended up losing most of the VR that I had gained. It wasn't much anyway, not even 6,000 yet, but it was pretty frustrating, heh. I can get into first or second, at least third or fourth and then on the third lap when I can smell the finish line I get bombed, knocked off the edge, shrunk and/or squished right at the last second resulting in 8th to last place... every time it seemed.

Yeah, I get that a lot. I finally managed to unlock mirror mode today, woot!

Bah! I'll have to practice mirror mode when I unlock it. It screws me all up on the online races if I'm not paying attention ;) For some reason I did better on the Rainbow Road mirror though...

Aw, I so need to get a copy of Mario Kart Wii. The Mario Kart series has been very on-and-off for me, as I didn't really like 64 or DS, but I did like Double Dash and the one on the SNES. I went to a friends' place for a party and we played four player. I was shocked to learn that YOU CAN RIDE MOTORCYCLES.  :D Anyways, that was a fun night. Seems to be the best installment, or at least I enjoyed it the most.

So... yeah, I'll let you know if I get a copy any time soon.  ;D

I only played Double Dash once and hated it. I would definately give it another go if given the oppertunity, though. My favorites are Super Mario Kart (SNES) and Mario Kart 64. I'm actually suprised that they took out being able to have two players on one kart for Wii. That would have been really fun for online races.

Not to mention that the game should be able to support 8 players on one system. Like Brawl, it allows use of both Wii remotes AND gamecube controllers, so with some smart (as in basic) programming they could easily allow it.

But nooooo, let's limit it to 4. Bugs me so much at parties, when there's 5 people or something.

Eight players on one system with two players on each kart... yes. But having to split the screen for more than four players, it would most likely prove to be more of a headache and confusing - the screen split four ways is bad enough.

lol, Leafshade! I'll add you as soon as possible. I'll PM you mine. Playing online is fun, man. It beats the hell out of playing againts the AI over and over again (unless you get hackers of course).

The reasoning behind PMing the codes was so I would know who everyone is once they are...ah..."friended" or whateverthefuck happens.

You probably need to sync them: press the red button under the flap on the Wii front while pressign the red button inside the battery cover on the remote.

Are you talking about the docking stations for the rechargable battery paks in the wiimotes? Similar to this:

There's 3 different ways to control it. Which did you use?

@Chicky
The more you play, the better you get. The controls are really good, actually. It also depends on whether you want to play or not. You don't sound like you're into it - ie; feeling like an idiot isn't any way to do anything, you have to be comfortable.

@Sinsin
We've had that for about a year now (not that exact brand, the one with the fingerprint on the front) and it's been good to us so far. Hopefully Nintendo was talking out their ass and just wanting you to buy their brand ;)

@SSH
When are you on? I haven't been on in a few days (played a little tonight) and I haven't seen you on yet. It FINALLY friended you!

During the week, I'm only likely to be on during USA "very very early morning". But at weekends, I might be on around USA evening time.
