Okay, first off I know that there are other threads on this (IRC) but wanted a short and simple one to avoid confusion. If you're new to #AGS or have no idea what IRC is or how to chat, see section XXIV-b. Otherwise, skip to section CLVII, sub-section Alpha-Sierra-Sierra.
XXIV-b) IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It's much like yahoo-chat or chatrooms on other sites except that it goes directly through various IRC-servers, bypassing all that web-tripe. If you download a program to use chat (such as mIRC or pIRCh) or even use a web-based IRC-client, you just have to set the server to Random Quakenet Server (with a preference for your locale). After you're connected to a quakenet server, enter #AGS in the rooms dialogue box. If there is no dialogue box, use /join #AGS at the prompt. Rules for chat appear after joining the room.
CLVII)
Alpha-Sierra-Sierra) mIRC has been updated to 6.1 with a bunch of new features and a lot of bug-fixes. Go here to download: http://www.mirc.com (http://www.mirc.com)
okay, I'm done here, return to your evil ways.
Ah yes, the beloved IRC. Is there anything about IRC in the regeresty?
