Ok, I can't connect to Quakenet. mIRC tells me...

Your username is invalid.
Connect with your real username, in lowercase.
If your mail address were foo@bar.com, your username would be foo.
I can't find anything useful in the help, nor can I find a username in the options. Can anyone tell me what to do?
Thanks, Jim
Well you should probably change the case of the id/nick.
Like, not JIMI but jimi or something.
I tried that, but no luck. I don't want to have to download it again, since I'm on a really slow connection.
Could it be the user id?
Try:
Options>Connect>IdentD
In user ID, type like.. "asffasfas" or whatever.
Most likely you're beind a firewall, this happened to me.. Figure out if you can port forward with your router or whatever firewall you use. (has to be a built in one that uses NAT, I'm sure)
And yes, use some bogus email and "Real Name" like jabberwokki@yo-Daddy.com or whatever, it'll take awhile to login, but you will log in at least.
