Title: Most anticipating AGS Games for 2006
Post by: Nikolas on Mon 05/12/2005 18:32:17
Ok. I sure hope that there is no other thread of this kind (at least for 2006).

Anyway my list:

A Tale of Two Kingdoms
Amulet of Kings
Ledgend of the Lost Lagoon
Apprentice III Checkmate (?)
Gift of aldora
Mordy II (Sorry, Mordalles, just being honest here)
Indiana Jones and the Crown of Solomon

I may be forgetting something, but still add any game you feel like...

Personally I would avoid writing a wish list for the sake of missing out games that may alienate people towards me. *NUDGE NUDGE*

I'm most eagerly awaiting the day that I reach point 15 on my to-do list, which is "make a Diagnosis Murder game".

But eh, I'm at point 1, but... Wait, no, I'm at point 2, because point 1 is finished.

This is speeding along nicely! :D

I'm looking forward to a crapload of games. Seriously, everyone'd working on HUGE projects this year and a good deal of them look amazing.

The number one has to be Lost Lagoon though. Been following that thread for awhile.

However: Ignac 2.
Yes.

So many of the games mentioned so far were also on people's lists last year (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=18169.0). And most of the games I've enjoyed this year were not. You can take that as you like.

Based on past experience, I expect that most of the games mentioned now either a) won't be released in 2006 (or at all), or b) won't be as good as many other games that will be released. So much as I look forward to finally playing some of these projects, my most anticipated games for 2006 are the surprises. Both the pleasant "wow this is so much better than I expected" surprises and the total out of the blue surprises.

I understand what you mean but I must comment a little here.

The legend of the Lost Lagoon, seems to be going rather slowly, so I'm not sure if 2006 is going to be it's year. On the other hand I'm pretty sure that Dan is working hard and he's got most of the BGs ready, so it's not so bad really...

a Tale of Two Kingdoms, is actually almost done! The goal was to release it before 2006 actually, but it is going to be rather difficult to do so.

Mordy2. Mordalles I think worked on Mordy1 for two months and then released it. With the pace he was going we would be enjoying Mordy2 in early 2006. Now I don't know...

Gift of Aldora is going slowly, but then again there is a demo! Which shows promising on release time-wise.

I hope for the best... Actually I hope that this thread will put, just a little bit more pressure on the creators to do a little more work so we can all enjoy new games ;)

mordy1 actually took 2 weeks. and mordy 2 has now been in production for 2 months, and i am going to finish it. still looking at february 1st, but could be faster than that.
thanks, buloght. great sprite. love it.

im anticipating rise of the hidden sun (not sure when it comes out)
tales of 2 kingdoms
legend of lagoon
jade's game, obviously
police quest 2
and many others, cant think now

Just because no-one else has said it I really would like to see my own game: Bob Goes Home Deluxe finished... maybe even in early 2006.

Oh, and I am also really anticipating anything from Yahtzee (he's my idol)!!!

Wasn't 2005 supposed to be the YEAR OF AGS or something?  I know I'm part of the problem pushing back Police Quest......Sorry.

Still waiting on Shadowplay...& Rise of The Hidden Sun....& Star Wars....& Lagoon - all from, like 1,000 years ago.

Waiting on King's Quest 3, but Beta-5 makes it sound like it's almost done; so that makes that a lot easier.

New stuff like Amulet of kings gets me exited about 2008.

Oh!  When are we going to see the return of Britton O'Toole of No Action Jackson - The undesputed king of the LucasArts style? :'(
