Title: MUD, MUD, glorious MUD!
Post by: Kinoko on Tue 08/06/2004 10:38:14
I've just started a 7 week mid-semester holiday and even though I have plenty of art-related work to do, I wanted to do something even less useful so I've gone back to my old MUD to play around again. I'm just curious about how many other people used to or do use MUDs these days? Where do you go? What would you recommend? My favourite place is Adventures in Stormgate (stormgate.dyndns.org 2345)... nice place!

well I no longer play... basically ever since I became an immortal, and now we are building a brand new one from near scratch... which is wehre I am now building my little heart out with my offline building program for the old mud... which I guess now I need to code up a new one for the new file system the new mud will use... I wish I could build online... but they have the damn ports blocked out here... been playing the same mud for 8 years now.... man thats a bunch of wasted life :P

Oil, Jelly, Mud, any of that wrestling fondling is good, but it can be a bit degrading to women, I'm surprised you're into it.

Sorry, I have no idea about what you're talking about, but It's good to hear your on holidays, I'm in the middle of holidays from work, I've been on a trip to Newcastle (NSW), and I'm Heading to Cairns (tropical north QLD) tomorrow. I'll be doing those cool things you can't do online like hang out in Rainforest's and snorkling on the Great Barrier Reef.

I'll probably see sum Mud there which is rare, cause I haven't seen any rain for months

MUD = Multi User Dimension.

Fun RPG type games usually played with telnet software :)

There are surely much more interesting things to do in brisbane that sit on the computer.

I used to spend an ungodly amount of time on the Discworld MUD when I was in college.  Sort of seems a bit silly now, in retrospect.

Recently, I found this... http://moviesonline.ca/phpBB2/ageofthedead.php

I love zombies, so I'll be a part of that once it gets up and running.  The MMORPG also. (god, I hate acronyms)

I don't even know what MUD stands for... :P

Multi User Dungeron, IIRC (yay, another acronym!)

I tried a couple of MUDs a few years ago, but I never really got into any of them. Maybe it's more fun playing with familiar people.

The Discworld MUD is alright, but I think it loses some of the humour that's ever present in the books.  :(
