Title: Music File
Post by: 00jon00 on Wed 17/03/2004 00:44:02
This is probably a stupid question...Ok, I need a music file for my game, but it is a WMA (Windows media audi file)Is there anyway I can convert it into a MP3 or WAV? Preferably a MP3

I am not quite sure about it as I'm never fond of those wma/wmv, etc formats.
But as there're a Winamp plugin (http://www.programfiles-download.co.uk/Downloads/Internet/index.html?http://www.programfiles-download.co.uk/Downloads/Media/Misc/Downloads/winamp_wma_plugin.shtml&2) for WMA format, I think you can possible setup Winamp to decode the wma file as a wave file instead of playing it to the soundcard.

Anyway, this thread is not AGS technical related, so I'll mov eit to the Gen Gen forum.

Just so you know, If you are converting music from one lossy format (wma) to another (mp3), you are going to lose quality. I really hate wma. I find ogg vorbis to be better than mp3's anyway, and if you are using the music in a game then I reccomend using ogg vorbis.

Thanks for the recommandation, but so far this morpher hasn't changed the quality at all.  Thanks guys
