Geoffkhan: my soundcard does not support soundfonts, but I have a synth that sounds really good, if anyone wants to tell me how to convert a tone to a soundfont I'd be happy to help.

Archangel (aka SoupDragon)

You need to convert the output from your synth to .wav files, you can have one sound for every note if you want or just two or three samples from different octaves will do. Soundfonts are basically wavs in a pretty package, except with looping and pitch alteration.

Vel

Well then if anyone wants a particular tone(and I have anything on my synth), just ask. A music sample can be heard here: www.agagames.com/music1.ogg

Now that you mention it Vel, I really love those drum-samples (kick and snare) in your WWTLF-prequel digital track and I would appreciate if you could sample them from your synth... wavs would be fine ;)

I would also have use for some strings and pizzicatos :)

Sure, Ill send them to you when you have time. And what pizzicatos do you want? I have pizzicat ensemble with much reverb, pizzicato ensemble with less reverb, single pizzs and whatever you think of.

Pet Terry

I guess I should hear samples how they sound first... I'll get back to you later. I have err... music to make :P

I'd really love to participate in the soundfont exchange. I've got a really cheap sound card, but I import Soundfonts to a Logic Sampler which lets me use them anyway.

Only problem: Apart from some hammersound.net soundfonts, I don't have any, so it would be quite a one-way sharing in the first place. Would that be okay?

Oh, and is the technical part solved yet? One central place such as a website or rather a p2p solution such as DC++?

Gregjazz

Well, I did get my website! Can I get a PHP script that'll make it so I can have a page on the site where other people can upload soundfonts for exchange (with filesize limit)?

Damien

You can find an free upload script here:
PSupload
It's the same script Neole used for his 'Quick upload space' and i think that you can restrict to the filesize and file types.
Just scroll down untill you get to the free section.

Can you tell me some good software for creating *sf2 files.
I need it to make a distortion guitar soundfont because I can't find any good ones on the internet.

Ben

I found a couple of good distorted guitars here:

The Voxline Session.sfpack is realistic if you use it right (though it might be too "twangy" for some types of music). If you want to make your own, try vienna soundfont studio.
