Title: My band finally has an online presence!
Post by: voh on Wed 03/10/2007 12:14:36
Me and some friends recently started playing together (5 weeks ago) and we're right on track to getting a gig sometime in the coming months if only we manage to find a singer. Now, I know there's not a lot of Dutchies on here, and especially not too many who'd be able/willing to sing, but why I posted this anyway is because to anyone out there with a myspace account and a good heart - please add us, because networking is the key to success and whatnot :)

Also, there's two songs there, without vocals and It's Morse Code For Rock has since been built out to include a new outro and a bridge (which rocks. hard.).

Thanks in advance to those who add us :)

(P.S. I'd be the drummer)

It's nice as far as I can tell. It's well recorded, nicely written punk-rock. Of course, this is a genre where vocals are a must and instrumentals just don't work well, so we shall wait for that... Make sure to pick a great singer who really rounds off the band's sound, the voice (and arguably the looks) of the singer make up a LOT of how your typical audience will rate your band, especially in your genre! Nice drumming and playing.

EDIT: Added!

What I want in a singer (and my bandmates agree with) is a likable voice, likable personality and a good stage presence. We don't need the best singer ever, we need a good singer :D

It's pretty good. The tone of the guitar is sort of, I dunno, typical. It sort of makes all of the songs sound the same. I'm sure with some vocals it'll be awesome. :)

Due to incompatibilities of the guitarist's distortion pedal and amp in the rehearsal room, he uses the amp's gain for distortion :p

Heh, awesome Voh!

I like it, drums are tight, guitar sounds nice and the mix is very clean. Good luck on the vocalist.

I'll add you on my bands account. Send us a comment  :)

Thanks for the compliments! It was a recording using the PA system in the rehearsal room and borrowed mics, plugged into a USB line6 connected to my macbook running audacity under windows. It was such a hackjob :D

Which of the 3 bands who sent a request are ya in? :P

Heh, democide. I'm the vocalist.
