Title: My Films (Kinda). Move aside, m0ds!
Post by: edmundito on Thu 15/06/2006 02:04:59
Man, it seems everyone that involved in the AGS community has made a film, once.

Well, today a friend and I posted the most recent films we've made online. I really do a lot of the help, mostly cinematography/shooting and co-editing. My friend is the director and he has a drama background so he acts as well, and he edits, too!

Anyway, you can check out the films at:

So, how am I involved?

I came up with the trailer for the movie Quitting, my friend did the edit cleanup, but I was the one who put it together in the first place. Quitting is a feature-length (90-120min) film that my friend is working on. I'm the cinematographer/cameraman and co-editor on the film.

I did do everything on Breaking News, though. It's my film. I only do like a voice at the very beginning, but I did all the hard work, like standing with the camera a the cold November day and freezing my hand, for example.

Finally, I star in the film Squatters, playing the computer depedent squatter known as Eddie (based on my life, duh). I also shot and co-edited the film...

---

Anyway, we entered Squatters for this contest on myspace, and if we make the 20 finalists, myspace users can vote for the films, and the winner will be turned into a real life tv show! OMG! So if you like it, and you're in myspace. Please add us:

The finalists will be announced in a few days. I'll keep you guys posted. We need votes if we're in!

With all the aspiring film makers on these boards, why don't you all try to get on Steven Spielberg's reality show, "On the Lot (http://www.thelot.com/index.html)?"

They're going to pick 16 aspiring directors based on their short (less than 5 minutes) film submissions and put them on an American Idol-ish show.  The winner gets a million dollar contract to make a film.

It's a long shot, but it could be fun to try.

Deadline for submissions is 1st of September if I remember correctly.

Damn college. I'd enter that show if I wasn't going to be busy at college.

Oh, so you graduated from high school? congrats. so where are you heading? I'm just asking because my friend went to U of Iowa.

I'm also not able to try out for the show because I'll be going back to school, too. What the hell am I doing...?

Sounds great Ed, I will check them out as soon as I can. I haven't had the time yet, though cheekily, I have had the time to send my forms to On The Lot... :P

Vince, just so you know, deadline is actually end of December 2006 :)
