I don't worry much about my health. I'm not affraid of bacteria either, or catching colds from being with already ill people.
I might be the anti-hypochondriac.

I was circumsized in adult age, which was the last real medical operation I went through. It was a piece of cake though. The big aneasthetizing shot they gave me right in my precious limb was of course painful, but I've never been very affraid of needles.
I left the hospital some hours later, with my newly cut willy in a bandage - making it look like a french hot dog - and took my bike home.

After this, my only real issue has been my skin condition; mostly I look smooth and tanned, but in periods the rashes hit me and all I can to is scratch.

God Blackthorne519! In a day and age where there are no more (MAJOR) wars… that probably deserves a purple heart! Wouldn’t catch me doing that!! And the same goes for all you other guys!

Hmm…I noticed that no one here so far has mentioned needles…err…the very word makes my stomach lurch. Stangely enough, even since I was about 5yrs I’ve never cried or put up a fight, but they scare the living day lights outta me!

Thanks George! Heh.

As for needles, let me tell you something about hemodialysis; they use big honking needles on you to do it.Ã,  Now, before this all happened, I was terrified of needles.Ã,  Getting blood drawn by a 21g needle would make me sick.Ã,  Dialysis, they use a 15g needle on you.

Yeah.Ã,  They're big; and you also have to have a little operation to have a vein in your arm enlarged.Ã,  This is called a fistula.Ã,  Sometimes it's simply your vein and artery tied together to create a larger, engorged vessel, but othertimes it's a teflon-Gore-Tex tube. I have a natural fistula, cause my veins were good enough!Ã,  Anyway, I got real used to needles, and now they can pretty much stick them wherever they want to.

If you click this link, you can see what a hemodialysis machine looks like.Ã,  I was hooked up to this, three times a week, four hours a shot.

I now remember a phobia I have. I didn't think anyone else had it, until my cousin said he also is afraid of it. I can't stand putting pressure on my wrists, where the bloodvessels are. I get freaked out by the pulse. As stupid as it may sound, I'm afraid of breaking something...

Oh, I know another Swede who had to do that. It was because he had gotten a kettle hot hot water in his lap and his foresking was baconcrisp. Did the same happen to you. Am I getting too personal?

Nine Toes

ROFLMFAO  ;D  It's so ironic to me that someone started this topic.

I didn't think that I was going to die, but on Thursday, I was mowing a friend's lawn, and I damn near chopped off one of my toes with the lawn mower.

The doctor sewed the laceration shut with six stitches.  I didn't even feel the blade of the lawnmower even though it destroyed my shoe.  The only thing that really hurt was the shot of lidicane (the numbing agent), yeh, I screamed (only because it burned like hellfire).  I just barely missed the bone.  I did lose a lot of blood, and now everyone around here is calling me "nine-toes", but at least I'm okay. :P

I would tell you the whole story about how it happened, but it's a long story.
Watch, I just killed this topic...
