Kludden tech demo thing

For those who don't know what Kludden is: It's an RPG I've started making October last year in AGS.Ã,  It has a production thread here (me being scourge). I have asked darth to lock it since most of the graphics will probably changeÃ,  :- I think I've improved a lot since I started it though I'm still pretty much a noob. I didn't even have a set palette for this game.

I just thought I'd share the tech demo displaying the engine. It's just a lot of stuff thrown together. Full use of the system is available. To fight run outside right of town, though I haven't any figthting animations in there.

It is complete for party based. This was completed a few months ago so the game is a bit further though I haven't worked too much on it. Also the graphics might be completely redone, and the blackline above some of the characters is a style mistakeÃ,  ;D.

You can buy/sell/save/load/talk/fight/use inv/stats/equipment use/etc.

NOTE: It may have an awesome number of bug :) I haven't really done any testing.

Any comments are welcome. Thanks for taking a look.

I played it for a bit and it looks really good, looking forward to the full game!
Bug thingie (maybe): When you press shift + an arrow key, the walk region becomes visible.

Indeed it looks really good.

It is one of the games I"m looking froward...

But I do have a couple of questions:

1. I have no idea about coding and programming, but it seems very incomplete. Why did you post it in the first place?
2. Why does Harp have red eyes?
3. Is Rain single? I'd like to date her.

There's not much to d oin the demo, but it does seem that you have thought of everything, so the only thing I (and everybody I guess) to do is to wait for the game to be released.

I don't know about the shift thingy? I guess it's because debug mode is on? I'll have to check :)

nikolas:Ã,  :) I just wanted to share the technical aspects I guess, how it plays and the engine of it, not really give away the game itself (I only included a short part of the intro). Maybe get some comments on what people dislike and so :) And also show that I still have it on my todo list. I just felt like sharingÃ,  :) I'm working on a medium length adventure game now, so I'll do this when that is finished. It would be helpful if anyone can tell me what is done wrongly, for example movement and all kinds of things.

I'll be leaving AGS for a couple of months, so I guess I wanted to share it now. Thanks very much for trying! :)

I tried it out for a little bit... I've only walked around the town so far, but it's looking good ^_^
A few suggestions:
-I think the walking speed is a bit too slow
-I'm not sure if it's just me, but the buttons seem a little fiddley... maybe I'm pressing the buttons too hard or too long, but I'm often executing the same command twice in a row (eg. talking to the person twice when I press Z to okay a dialogue)

I look forward to the full game ^_^

There is a run command, which makes things easier... if only I rememberd which key was it...

I couldnt wait to play this.

I really like the game it sorta reminded me the first timee i played chrono trigger.

I think you got it all down Sir Gibberish, You can upgrade your weapons fight system is in place.
Its all good I really enjoyed this and WOW on that chick shes hot!

The setup is nice and your engine looks well planned!!! (cant spell therough) :)

As for the keys guys read the txt :)

It's sad bulogth will leave us (temporarily)... :(

But about the tech demo: I'll take a look, maybe there are things I can learn from for my own games! :D

Hi, thanks for all the comments :) and especially for trying.

mashpotato: Yes, even though you found the run commandÃ,  ;D i do feel the walking can be faster still. The buttons does react a little quick, I'll make the delay longer.

aflict: yes, the battles are a little lame, i'll have to make them a LOT more interesting. Each character has abilities which they learn etc. Boring, I know.

sergiocornaga: sorry about that, it's rather lame the about kludden RPG, but at least its done in AGS haha.Ã,  Here is the link: About Kludden RPG. It's lame so don't go in there unless you want to.

For those who hasn't found the shop: It's the bottom shop to the right. And you can access your stats, equipment and saving with 'S'. The inn is also there somewhere, but this version has that room incomplete, though you can sleep/rest, Just a tech demo i say :)

buloght: This is even more than I ever pulled up! I never get my grass right, and I'm no good at trees and objects as well.

It's not very interactive, but it's worth checking out if you want to taste what AGS can bring you if you talk about RPG's.
