I have been drawing in lots of programs and have found the one for me, Macromedia Flash MX. The only problem is i cant draw, actually its more complicated than that, i CAN draw but just not in my OWN style. I try to draw like other people instead of using my own style (I cant seem to figure one out) , for instance: almost all my shading is done in HillBillys Style. I have tried all flash members styles from eggie too iddoki but i fell upset. Does anybody have any ideas about "Bringing out" my own style? :'( ???
Try melding the ones you can already do.
Read different tutorials and try practicing many different styles. You'll find your own style someday. It just takes time. I myself also haven't yet quite found the drawing style that fits best for me. So you're not alone there!

I've always thought the people should go "DoggyStyle".
You own style is valuable, but being able to mimic other people styles is a skill worth gold! Think of how all the backgrounds in the classic adventures all looked like 1 person drew them, although a team made them. Being able to adapt is something every person strive to be able to do. I have my own style, but i can mimic other styles as well. Which is good.
And.... what IS your own style?
Draw 10 backgrounds and 10 sprites.
From scratch, don't use any reference or tutorials.
Then, sum them all together - what ways were easiest to make for you? Will you use these tricks and techniques in future? yes?

There's nothing new under the sun. EVERY style is similar to someone else's. Just when you make a complicated picture, the mix of other's styles you usually use to make different things make up your own cocktail. Or a style, name it as you like.
The trick to developing your own style in anything, music, art, is imitating other people's styles. Eventually your own style, unbenounced to you, will develop.
I think your style really comes out gradually as you learn to express yourself better through art.
Copying other people's styles is a good way to learn and try what suits you and what doesn't. Just don't stick with one style but try many styles and you'll probably combine them to create your style.
Inspiration will probably bring the unique stuff which is only yours (and which other people will copy in the future). :)

I partly agree with that ...If you can mimic then at least you recognise that there is a style! As you keep drawing backgrounds for various rooms or the spites you need, their style is bound to differ, even if it is completely your own, so being able to copy it might prove valuable.
I also think that "resemblance" is not "copy" if you put some of your personality in it. Sky in daylight isÃ, painted using shades of blue, but each person's picture is different. There are clouds, birds, airplanes, or emptiness!!

Apparently it's good to study drawing from life...if ask any artist anything about starting off with drawing they'll say 'study drawing from life'. I never studied drawing from life, now I'm stuck drawing the same stuff over and over with no way of breaking free, I live on the steets and I weight 900 pounds.
If only I'd studied drawing from life...IF ONLY...
I agree with Geoffkhan. You probably already have a style and don't know it. Just don't kill yourself trying to copy one style until perfection. Learn to love some of the things you do'nt like about your work, b/c chances are somebody else really likes those things. Always good to get feedback, too.
Lots of people accidentally have similar styles. I have my own style, and it's a very strange, big eyed, crappy hands, drawn in 30 seconds style. If I see a similar style, I don't care. As far as I'm concerned, my style is mine. Draw with MSPaint. Draw with Flash. Draw with anything, because you can have a different stlye in anything. My MSPaint style is drastically different than my pencil and paper style. As for finding your style, do what Geoffkhan said.
