Why get a new Fat box?

Whay not get a console where you can play 1 player games, instead of needing two friends to hold the controller while you run around smashing the buttons :P

Get a cube  8)

I doubt any one would do the PayPal thing.

When my mum used to work for Freeads or whatever it was called, in the computer sections, people sometimes were paying for broken consoles, could check?

Get a job?

STFU n00b,

this is really hard for me, not saying how much better the xbox is, but yeh i could get abouts £50 max for my broken xbox, but then i still gotta get £80, damn.

yeh maybe i should get a job, but £3 a hour means a lotta work until i get a new box  :-\

darn, does anybody wanna send me a £130 check, it would be highly apreciated :P

£3 an hour? wow, you are being ripped off :P

Anyway, you can't expect people to just give you money for it, you gotta do something your self :P

yeh im not yet 16 (only half a year) so i dont yet count for standard rate, most places ive asked about say around £3-4 a hour.

this is bloody annoying, i only jus got Cs for the xbox about 3 days ago

btw, how was it broken? and is it broken beyond all repair?

My friend confirmed it was March 14th 2002, therefore a 2 year guarantee being valid still.

I was only joking around Oversized :P

dont you have an old stuff you sell?

get 40 old games and you can get £2 each at cash and carry :)

or any thing you can sell on ebay?

you only get a year guarentee, and i got mine at release soo. Yeh if i wanted to send it for repair it would cost £90 and if it then broke again i would have to pay another £90. The best bet is to get a new one.

maybe i should just shut up

-a chiken

btw i didnt mean any offence by the 'stfu n00b' i was only joking

- a chicken

*edit* sorry Flan, i didnt realise that it was released 2 years ago, well the guartee is only a year so i no longer have it covered. You see i got it second hand about 8 months or summit after relase so i only had 4 months left on guarentee.

yeh and hotspot, im trying to find stuff i can sell. How hard is the procedure of selling on ebay? ive only ever bought from there.

Actually, in the UK under the "Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002"

you have the legal right to:

* choose repair, replacement, partial or full refund or compensation if a fault appears within 6 years and it is reasonable for goods to last that long

However:

* goods must have been faulty at the time of purchase
* if you complain within 6 months, the retailer must prove that they were NOT faulty if they are to deny you
* after 6 months, you must prove they WERE faulty.

Proof of purchase is required, too.

Seriously, you spend time on PC and console.  Your console breaks- you are so desparate you feel the need to ask strangers for money in order to replace it.

This is an omen. You were meant to break your XBox so that you and it had time apart. Go outside, spend time with friends playing sports or making little movies. get active and off your ass.

It's a new day.

I get 7 Euro an hour. What the hell? If that's the exchange rate, I should get m0ds the Indy Box Set, because it's only 40 Euro over here, which apparently is like 15 Sterling?!

im sorry but i find this quite offensive, i am a regular to going outdoors  :P. I can see why you were mistaken but you should have realised that i was joking when i was asking stragers for money.

I think you sholud consider what you are about to say before you say things like that because some people could take this a lot harder than i have. I was just asking for advice not offence.

Ohh and btw i MTb, skate, BMX, Trials Ride, Surf and a bit of jumping on the side.

thanks to everyone else who has helped

*edit* good idea Flan, but im not too sure. If anythig goes wrong with it again then i'll just be in the same perdiciment rather than being able to return it.

I wouldnt be able to return it if it ws second hand ... would i?

Did you read what SSH said? Unless you threw the console at the wall you should go that route. I dunno how you can prove it's their fault but I expect it's not too unreasonable.

I would say go with a used. You could still sell your old one on ebay and say something like "I'm not 100% sure if it works because I dont have a power cord." That seems to work for the 98% of people that sell things broken.
