co-op thingy

I was sitting here on my comp, and killing some time making "art". Then suddenly, i though; "Hey, thats a good idea!". Of course i thought something before that again, but we'll get there. I, and i believe many other people, love making backgrounds, sprites etc. but i dont know zit about scripting, even tho i try over and over again. But i would love to make a game. (here comes my idea) What i am thinking, is a thread where people can post some of their art/music ect, and show what they are capable of. There, people could show their interrest in the stuff, and PM the person posting asking if he/she wanted to go in a team, making a game. As i believe making games is much easier when in a team. (at least for t3h n00bs )

What do you think? (and please, no religious discussions)

I know about the ACR thread.(or something like that) But that is more for people asking for help for their games.

Well, currently 2 threads below the ACR thread (which, you're right, is about ASKING for help) is the Offer Your Services thread, which I guess is what Tuomas meant.
Don't think there're any posted examples of past work, as such, but it sounds like the same idea as you had.

I think that it\s been proposed before a number of times. And never worked in the end... Casue teams are difficult to stick together in the end...

But generally from the ACR thread I have been approached numerous times (ok, two), and when I find something that interests me a approach them through PM or something simmilar. I do have my music in a website, so I can give them samples of my music... Why don't you find someone who you think would care in collabrorating with you, or you think that you think alike or whatever and PM them? The worst that can happen is say no. And then you're off to the next. Or even better. Try scripting... It shouldn't be sooooooooo bad.

I had an idea a while back that was terribly unlike this, but not too terribly dissimilar.

I need to win a MAGS, though, because this is how it would work...

For MAGS in whichever month I would have won it, which I never will, because I have better things to do than enter, such as remaining free of deadline-related stress, there would be no theme, only one rule: You can only use graphics and music from the most recent sprite, music, animation, and background competition.

That's kind of cooperative, only it requires less cooperation.

And your idea sounds pretty good too, esper. But it dont solve the script/art problem, many have.
