Title: Need help with a jingle for the "Wondersoft Presents"-screen
Post by: CoffeeBob on Sun 10/10/2004 15:18:38
It's been a while since I posted the last time but,
I need a short jingle, around 5-10 seconds for the "Wondersoft Presents"-splash screen.
I've been trying to make one myself, but I really suck at composing.
The melody will, of course, be used in all of our (Wondersoft's) games, commercial ones as well as freeware games. So if there's any composer out there that's not greedy and can compose a little jingle for free, it would really solve my jingle-problems :P .

A few questions.

1. How long?
2. What mood?
3. Could you post the splash screen for inspiration?
4. Is MIDI ok?

1. 5-10 seconds
2. Hmm... I dunno... Nothing "angry", but not too happy either
3. Of course, here it is:

(It's a bit inspired by the old Apogee logo :) )
4. Yes, but I would very much like it in MP3 if possible, thanks

You're kinda gonna have to be a bit more specific than that.Ã,  Not angry or too happy leaves so many options open.Ã,  For example the Funeral March, Queens of the Stone Age and Egyptian Jazz all fit in that category.

Maybe some in game screenies might help.Ã,  Or a description of the "company's" ethos might help.

(Also, I'm not a 100% "ethos" was the correct word, but hey.Ã,  It sounds clever).

EDIT:
(Also, also.  What sort of equipment?  Just a piano? A full orchestra? A string quartet? A flute and tubular bell combo? A punk band? Some fat guy with a synthesiser and too much time on his hands? Etc).

It's 30 seconds long, but I just thought I'd give it a go.

Have you ever heard the Apogee-jingle? I want it to sound something like that but a bit more happy, not too happy, and just a tiny bit more triumphated.
As for the instruments... Dunno, Take what you think fits best.
BTW, If you haven't heard the Apogee-jingle before, there is a site on classicgaming where you can get it: http://www.classicgaming.com/rott/
Go to the bottom of the gallery section and dload fanfare2. (I tried uploading it on my esmart account, but it wouldn't work)
