I'm psyched!  But I'm probably going to have to go see it by myself.  I can't take my girlfriend (she'll talk during the entire movie... she doesn't want to see it anyway...), and I don't have any friends that are as psyched as me or would want to go see it.

I read on Yahoo! News that it topped The Passion of Christ on it's opening day.  Wahooey!

MrColossal

Yes, it was full of zombie goodness and a little bit of bad movie badness

all in all it was a fun movie

except for the assholes that sat in front of my and the ,for some reason,  five 6 year olds sitting next to my friend Nick

LOL, wow, everyone seems so pissed at Mel Gibson. For Christ's sake (no pun intended) it's just some guys take on Jesus and all that, so shut up - world!

But Dawn Of The Dead... Haven't seen it but would like too. Not pysched up though, because I haven't seen any trailers for it. But alas, I have no money nor friends so I probably won't see it for some time.

:P

Can we have some movies that aren't about people that come back from the dead now?

lol, colossal man...you and your smart ASS!24!

I can't wait to see it. I'd like to see the original first, since some remakes blow.

My oldest brother remembers seeing the original when it first came out on tape and he said it was pretty freaky. He watched it with his friend one night in his basement.

That's okay, m0ds... I'd go see it with ya!  I'd even pay for your ticket and everything.

I'd actually like to see The Passion of Christ (just for shitz 'n giggles).  But Honestly, I don't what all of the hub-bub is about that movie... religion is a bad thing to bring up... EVER.  Somebody has ALWAYS done something wrong when it comes to an interpretation of anything having to do with the holy bible.

Naranjas:  HERETIC!  HEATHEN!  ...jk... actually, no.  I myself would prefer to see more (with some original ideas, of course).

I actually own the original on VHS,  I can't really say it's extremely great though... 28 Days Later kind of reminded me of it.

I've seen the commercials for the movie several times... aside from getting my panties wet, it also kind of confused me... the commercial said "Everett, Wisconsin... population 3458 7", and I was like "Hell, yeah!"... I would love nothing more than to see some town in this shithole state to get ravaged by zombies.  But in actuality, I guess it was shot somewhere in Canada... Ontario?  Oh well, false hopes, I guess.

If I remember right, wasn't someone from MTV a zombie in it? It wasn't Matt Pinfield...it was that other pig-looking guy...short, younger. He does the rock stuff.

this one has running zombies too, correct?

it's interesting that since the original Dawn of the Dead - zombies have only improved by becoming physically fit track stars.  Zombie marathon, who's with me!?

I'll watch this one soon, probably.  I think it would be really funny if the story went as follows:

First act:
Epidemic takes over a community
Our main characters lock themselves in a mall

Second act:
the main characters spend their time enjoying exercise equipment, trying on free clothes, and playing with appliances
the younger hotter characters have meaningless sex with eachother

Third Act:
The main characters, in a bout of stupidity, unlock the door, walk into the parking lot looking for their car only to be shocked.  "Oh yeah! Zombies!"
"I drink a thousand shipwrecks.'"

LGM

You were almost correct...

But they go into the parking lot to turn on the power so they can have more meaningless sex... And try on women's shoes..

In just about all of the George Romero zombie movies (i.e. Night of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead), there seems to always be a leading black guy.  In Resident Evil, when I first watched it, I thought that would be the case, but I was happily wrong.

The original dawn of the dead was excellent. So was night of the dead (and the remake), and day of the dead. They are the best zombie movies ever. The Resident Evil movie was crap. I'm hyped about this remake, I just hope they didn't beef it up like a lot of new movies. I especaily hope the zombies are not like of the RE movie. I liked the idea of them casting black men as the leading characters in the movie. It has always worked out great. George Romero had nothing to do with the making of RE. He was on the project during filming or before but then was knocked off or quite, I can't remember. I'm just hoping it is at least in par with the original movie.

Robert Eric

Cabal, I know he had nothing to do with RE, but there was always the possibility that the screenwriter wanted to continue that little legacy.

They're working on a new RE movie right now, it's called Resident Evil: Apocalypse.  It picks up right where the last one left off.  I even read something about the Nemesis, Carlos, and Jill making an appearance.

I really didn't mind the first one, being a fan of the game and all... but there's no way the first movie would ever tie in with the game storyline.

Romero was on the bill to write the story for the first Resident Evil movie, but I guess he was dropped because the director didn't like the story.  I had read a few things about "a Jill Valentine shower scene", and the scene in the first game where you see the first zombie eating the guy and it turns around to look at you...

I might go see Dawn of the Dead tonight... ALONE!... so alone...  My friends really suck.

Anyone read this yet? It was the first I ever even heard of this movie. Actually, this thread is the second. Something that sounds so cool and I haven't seen any ads for it or anything over here. Maybe Australia takes to zombies badly...
