I haven't been on AGS Forum for a very long time so I want to delete my account.
Problem is, I can't.
I've checked the help section and it says there is a delete account action in the profile page which is failing to appear for me not matter what I do. and I can't find any contact info to ask an Admin.
Some ideas for this?
Go to view your profile and on your left hand side there are a list of options. The last one under "actions" is the option to delete your account.
Bye!

That is the "Action" that doesn't exist for me, which has caused my problem
As far as I know, you cannot delete an account. I looked around my own account out of curiosity and couldn't find a way either.
Why do you need to delete the accound? Why not just change it so the e-mail and other information is hidden/incorrect and just abandon it?
There should DEFINITELY be an action for you in this link. (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?action=profile)
Will miss you, and your probing GUI linkage questions!

No Delete action there
Guess I'll have to go with the incorrect info route. unless someone can provide a link to the delete page?
just fancy a bit of closure rather than leaving it floating around
It is pretty obvious this is not ShadowRifter666, no one in their right mind would do this ???.....it must be his girlfriend, wife, evil friend or parent

None of the above. It's the one and only ShadowRifter666.
I still remember writing that code for making a character select screen, then trying to make character specific actions throughout the game. It worked, just not very well.
I followed babar's link as well, cannot find it either.
Is there a difference between certain accounts? I'm not deleting my account, though, just curious. ;)
Babar, Indie: It's probably in our profile due to our restricted access permissions. Just like how we can delete our posts.

So why can't I see or access the delete action?
If you look in the help page, under profile it says there is "Delete this account" in actions. No matter the status of the user. Standard, mod or admin
Ryan may be right, but doing a little haxoring on my part, perhaps this link would work for you:
Deleting the Account of ShadowRifter666 by ShadowRifter666 (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?action=profile;u=9422;sa=deleteAccount)
I'm kinda surprised at how willing I am to help you get rid of your account ;D
BABAR, SERIOUSLY!!
LOL!
Also, indieboy appears to have access in all the weird stuff, like deleting his account, locking his topics. I am beginning to suspect a huge corporate conspiracy here.

Still a no go.
I just get
You don't have the permissions to go about removing people's accounts!
I appreciate the help
Ah. Well. Must be a sign, then :P.
Simplest method would just be to stop coming here?
True, just wanted some closure.
But it is worth looking into more, an action that should be present but isn't
I'm looking at the delete account option on my profile page right now. No hax0r business needed.
I presume that if I click it, my account will ju-
I can't delete my own account neither... Thank god for that! ;D
So some people have the Delete action, some don't
Is there an Admin person I can ask?

This seems mighty suspicious to me. Are you by any chance being sought by government agencies? I hear the cyber police can backtrace anything these days ;D

You don't find them. They find
you.
(No seriously, if you're still so inclined somebody will likely contact you).
The administrators around these parts are like the Greek Godz. You must believe in them, and must do everything in your power to appease them, but they will never do anything to ever actually help you. Wait, that's not right!! :o

Haha good one.
Full story, I haven't used AGS since I finished uni 2 years ago only now am I cleaning up sites I joined at uni but never use anymore. I'll wait for an Admin then.
Yes, it would be horrible if anyone ever went looking for you and discovered that you ShadowRifter666, once upon a time, were a member of the Adventure Game Studio community. That would just be horrible.
Oh no, now people can Google search for your name and find this post! What have I done?!? ::)
Not to mention the fact that even if your account was deleted, your posts would remain in-tact, as though they were written by a guest instead of a registered member...

Would you please grow up.
I don't mind if my posts aren't deleted, in fact I'm happy that they would stay in case they help someone else.
How did asking to get my account deleted turn into a conspiracy theory?
Marty, I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you're stuck here!
---
In all seriousness, I don't see the option either ???
PS
Btw, ShadowRifter, the whole conspiracy theory thing is only kidding around ;)
Well, I was about to make a wild guess, that maybe it's because the OP doesn't have enough post coutn yet to have this option, but seeing that Snake claimed that he could find it either I have no idea now.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hang on there a minute! What other secret powers can you wield?

I can put a bathroom tissue roll on the little hook. Also, on very rare occasions, I can actually put the seat down!
I need to note that I can't find the 'delete acount' option either on my profile. And it's not that I'm not long enough here, or don't have enough posts, or even haven't worked on enough games! :P
I think it's regardless of posts and time, it must some other criteria that make Babar and Indieboy so special!! >:(
Yep, Like I said above. Being given restricted access permission for the Ratings Panel, awards committee, or other restricted sub-forums on here will give you the ability to delete your posts and account.

Just contact Pumaman (CJ) and let him know you want your account deleted. He runs this joint.
