Nothing is going right for me lately.
Now My Norton 360 is being a tosser.
I only renewed my subscription 3 days ago at a cost nearly £70.
Now it tells me it wont load because of some error and recommends that I run the removal tool and reinstall the program.
So I do that, follow the intstructions, and then it immediately uninstalls itself again and tells me to restart the computer and try again.
Any ideas what's causing this?

But, offering some actual help, it sounds like an install conflict, or, if you're using Vista, some sort of UAC b'locks.
Very general advice: Uninstall, use a registry cleaning tool (carefully!) to remove all traces of Norton from your system, and reinstall. Try this one - http://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html.
Something stabbing at the back of my brain tells me that a tool for purging all traces of Norton from your system exists somewhere on t'web. Might help with a fresh install.

The official Norton Removal Tool should do this. But I think I'm going wrong somehwere else... I was live with a technician from Symantec last night, and he played about in the registry and still couldn't get it working, and neither could his supervisor.
Don't use Norton.
Don't let it take your system (and your wallet) hostage.
Don't pay for stuff you get for free.
Ask for a refund, uninstall that crap and use something else. Honestly.

Hehe, that's exactly what I did.
I went back online with another technician today, and he couldn't help... said he wanted to refer me to the research team who would call me back within 48 hrs and they would fix it... the other two techies had also come with a promise from his predecessor that he was the man to fix it, so I felt like they were just passing me around.
So in the nicest possible way I requested my money back and waved goodbye to Norton.
There is a reason that people in-the-know warn people not to use Norton... ;)
Norton is a completely unnecessary resource hog (from what I've seen it actually do there is no excuse for it allocating that much memory).
The program is beyond difficult to uninstall (even after having used registry cleaners and the like the system I had to recover from viruses (which were introduced while Norton was running nonetheless) there are still traces of the program on the computer (I got reports from various tools during the antivirus campaign)). I'm sure you're well aware of the joke called the uninstaller.
And your experience with Customer Service is just another example of why you shouldn't be using their program.
I know there have been loads of discussions on this topic, and I've said it before, I'll say it again. I use avast! Home Free version. It (unlike both Norton and McAffee) has yet to let me down. I highly recommend it. 8)
Oh, and just to further endorse them, I've only had to contact their Customer Support one time and the representative was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with my issue.

I never came across a problem with Norton that couldn't be fixed by removing Norton.
(In as far as it's possible to actually get rid of it)
