but movies none the less! Yes, these are shot by me to an extent and they're quite old now. I've got lots more to present but its not in wmv format yet, lol. LGM and other movie makers may be interested to watch! anyone that wants a laugh might too :D

MAKING MOVIES IS ONE THING

What's with the minute of black at the end?

thats your comment? gee.

its where out-takes will sit,
but with a comment like that -
i dont think you get the priveledge :p

Evil

Well, the Indy one seemed choppy. Kind of lost track of what was going on. The film was nice, though most of the camera styles didn't seem like a Indiana Jones movie to me.

Showreel was also nice. Some of the clips were rather great, like the second Tremmors clip. But others, like the last one, didn't tell me a thing about the movie. She was walking and then talked to a guy. Thats all I got. Also, some of the clips were short and to the point, but others went on too long. It was as if I was watching the uneventful sections of a movie.

Over all, rather good. I wish I could make films like these. But come on m0dsy, I expect higher quality from you. :)

m0ds

LOL. The second shoot, I don't have the footage, but it is much much better. It's choppy because Ken will want to keep some of that original footage for the hopefully successful DVD, I've made it so you can't really follow what's going on. You don't need too. Wait for the full movie!! :) The third shoot is going to be A. An American director is coming across and he captures Spielberg's style PERFECTLY. Honestly, the final piece is going to be amazing. Keeping up the quality and keeping it consistent - if my second shoot footage is used even for cut-aways I'll be surprised.

Hehe... about the showreel, my movies are all features, mostly un-finished, gah, what you're seeing is snippets again, the last bit - static fear, was the un-finished title sequence. that really is old. like, i was still in school when I made that.

Quality is in my next production, Whole Wired World. Honest :) It will shit on this old stuff because I now have experience with all my equipment (boom my mike, etc ;)) I just haven't had the oppurtunity to shoot.

Pretty cool. I can't wait for some audio other than music (sound effects, voice, etc.)

EDIT: Oops, wait, I was only referring to the first movie clip -- I hadn't seen the second one yet, which has voice. It seems like a few of the action senes are almost in slow motion, though.

m0ds

There's no slow motion... I don't think the showreel wmv converted as well as the first.

LGM

Okay.. Now I actually have time to comment..

I'm jealous, m0ds.. Really, I am. I wish I had the equipment, locations, and actors you did.. Or the inspiration for scripts.

I really enjoyed the Showreel. I believe the Falling Tree II scenes (esp the first one) where excellently directed, and I can see them fitting into an action film easily. And I enjoyed seeing Tremors up there again, but none of that is new to me as I still have the trailer you sent me a long time ago. When are you going to finish that, btw?

Indiana Jones was good, but it didn't feel like an IJ movie at all.. And Evil is right, you can't tell what's going on at all. But I liked the explosion sequence.. It didn't look like fireworks this time ;)

Keep up the good work. If you ever get enough money to buy me a ticket, I'll fly over there and co-direct with you ;)
You. Me. Denny's.

Evil

Hah, yes. The explosition was awesome! But I don't know what LGM is talking about! Real life explosions are always sparkly, multi-colored, and sound like firecrackers!

Gregjazz

Was it a gasoline explosion? Is that how you made it?

m0ds

Yep, we lobbed a molotov at the cave wall. Simple :P

Scummbuddy

Excellent. Fun-fun. I love making movies just as much as making games. These brought back some great memories of myself making movies, as well as questions as to why I gave up doing that. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see more.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

I once made a very short movie with my cousins. I'm not sure but I think I was 11 at the time. So you can quess the quality of the movie ;) ... It sucked. It was BAAAAD! :o

That means it was the opposite of these clips. These were great! :P

m0ds

Hehehe thanks... Well, I'm going to put up all of what we have of the Falling Tree II at some point.

Anyway, here's something we shot yesterday afternoon for... Well, the hell of it! Yes, its mumbojumbo-no real storyline-interpret what you want etc. Shot for fun, in the space of four hours. I urge other people do similar! It's great fun :D

It's not finished, this is the first rough cut. It will have its own soundtrack courtesy of its lead actor Simon. Still to come - a fight scene, woo!

2ma2

It's some kickass photography there, and it wasn't storyboarded? Sweet! You guys should really film a full script, albeit avoid fightscenes unless they're completely pathetic. Always fun to see people that can't throw a punch on screen :D

You broke the line of interest though.. several times!.. haha! I could find something to nag about! ;)

m0ds

The line of interest? Would that include the pointless 2 minutes of walking around? LOL.. Well, there's room there for a voice over of some kind. Thanks for your comments Linus, yep, there were no storyboards this time round, but when I finish my bigger project for this year I'll show you how it compares with storyboards etc!

Word on the street is, Layabout is making a movie that boasts themes, examples or similarities to 5 Days A Stranger - which I hopefully will be helping shoot, so keep an eye out for that one also :) AGS game-films are coming!1

Evil

Hah, I actually was thinking about drafting out 7 Days a Skeptic: The Musical. There was just something about a zombie barber-shop quartet that appealed to me.

Anyway. The new film was nice. There were a lot of great shots. I loved the shot of the two men running down and up the stairs. However there was a lot of bad shots that I think really lessened the quality of the movie.

Well, it just so happens that I'm starting my own fund raiser.... right here on the boards. Send me money. I want this: http://store.apple.com/AppleStore/WebObjects/BizCustom?qprm=78313&productLearnMore=TB991LL/A

Yes, those who attended USMittens saw my Sony camera which would do just fine, but this.... this makes me want to sign out credit cards, ala Kevin Smith, and go to town with this.

LGM

Great shit, m0ds.. The running-around shots in the house were totally ace.
You. Me. Denny's.

m0ds

Spanks. That shot kicked ASS.

Okay, two old productions now.

Firstly, GAME. It has no meaning so don't go looking for one!

http://screen7.adventuredevelopers.com/fun/game_test.wmv

And the trailer for WATCHED, which, though is a really old short - is coming SOON! Because I've never been able to convert it to WMV until now but even now I still can't, quite.
