Title: Obscure Game References
Post by: Calin Leafshade on Sun 27/09/2009 06:13:58
Lets play a game. I'll go first.

Avoid google you cheats

"Guns, guns, GUNS! I thought I was gonna get your  car without too many holes in it, Vixen."

Guess the game.

Sounds like Interstate `76.

Hmm, I'm not good at remembering game quotes. The best I can come up with is "Now we are free! Find us, J.C! Fiiiiind uuuuuus!"

It's Tracer Tong from the ending where you

blow up Area 51.

I gather not too many people were drawn to that ending, though...

I always went for the merge with Helios ending. Shows how dull I am...

What about "Get in the bac- ARGHHH"

Edit: What, no takers? And it's from a very popular game, too  ???

How about some of these then:

"Abandon ship! Abandon ship!" "Did he say ship, or sheep?" Random sailor bad guys from No One Lives Forever (Yay Leon)

or

"Shitbag! I use all the ammunition for weapon!" Ivan from Jagged Alliance 2 (Yay Bulbapuck's friend!)

or

"Yes, oh omnipresent authority figure?" Jaheira from Baldur's Gate (Yay Calin Leafshade)

or

"That was left handed!" Commando from Command & Conquer (also Havoc from Renegade, I believe) (Yay Radiant)

or

"CARLSON AND PEETERS!" Double H from Beyond Good & Evil (Yay Mr Flibble!)

8)

Another one, while I'm remembering things from games of my past:

"That's the way to show those bast- I mean... good hit, sir!" Virgil from Arcanum (Yay Akatosh!)

Only one left, folks!

Baldurs Gate!

Jaheira i believe.

Try this one,

"I'll find you, taffer!"

I wonder what the most obvious game quote is.. not counting mario ones.

"Forget about freeman"?

taffer?  Wasn't that from one of the Thief games?  Sounds familiar, anyway!

How about:

"That's an impressive face print and drool stain combination...Even by my standards."

Hint:  It is from an ags game.

Taffer definitely IS Thief. It's like a trademark of the series  ;D

Haven't play that game... but I really think I heard that somewhere else. ;) (put my guess in my previous post above)

EDIT: Heh, I googled that line and it shown No One Lives Forever   ??? So it actually was there. Now I have to check my own guess somehow...

Oh well, maybe it was deja vu...  :-\

Trying to remember some quotes too...

Maybe not so obscure -
1. "Rocket launcher gives me all the spiritual peace I need."

2. "Sometimes I have to be strict."

3. "Where are you going? What about the rebellion?!"

4. "Why, Jaden?" Kyle Katarn, Jedi Academy (guess by Calin Leafshade)

5. - Stop rocking the boat.
- You are making me seasick!
Warcraft 2, Elven Destroyer. (guess by wonkyth)

Something really obscure:
6. "We've found your father."

Quote from: Ben304 on Sun 27/09/2009 11:04:04
"That was left handed!"

Hey, isn't it Maniac Mansion 2, where you change sculptor's hammer? or rather not  :-\

If Tanya said that, then I've forgotten (I thought her catchphrases were 'Cha-ching' and 'Shake it baby!'). Anyhow, seeing as you got the right game (Tanya was in Command & Conquer: Red Alert, not Command & Conquer) and the correct unit type (Commando) I will declare you victorious! If Tanya said it as well, then I will take back what I have said and feel foolish!  8)

Also, congrats to Akatosh and Leon for being correct as well!

"Hi guys, ain't it cold with no skin on?"

and

"-Go for their weak spots!

-Their weak spots are.. err.. I forget"

Maybe it is "Simon the Sorcerer"?
Sorry for quite random guess, I am absolutely sure I heard those somewhere, but can't tell for sure. Yet, there is bunch of games which I didn't play but watched other people playing. "Simon" is one of them. And I just thought it may be from there. :) Some slight feel of recognition. Not sure though...

Sorry, that's not it. (Or maybe has it too, seeing that when I played "Simon the Sorcerer" I didn't know any English. Doubt it though)

Hints:
It's not an adventure game.
It's for the PS2
The first quote is from the curscene leading up to the actual stage
