Obviously there is no free IRC client, right?
The world wouldn't make sense if there were, but I want to make sure. I live off of free stuff. :)
mIRC is shareware, and I searched for FREE IRC under google. I found a few things, but i couldn't find QuakeNet.
Can someone help by telling me the name of a free one?
Or can someone just say that there is no free IRC client that can get #AGS and that I should stop being cheap and start working, punk!
1: goto www.mirc.com
2: download the irc client (it's pay if you want to stuff)
3: install it
4: run it
5: on the connection screen, under server click on random quakenet server"
6: once connected type "/join #ags"
7: serve with caffene and humor
C.
Vastly in the majority they're free.
http://www.ircreviews.org/clients/platforms-windows.html look through them.
Use Miranda http://www.miranda-im.org/ or Trillian http://www.trillian.cc/ so as to only use once client for IRC, MSN, AOL, ICQ and Yahoo if you want.
Or look at the following thread.

Thanks everybody.
Las Naranjas- I tried the BersIRC client, but I couldn't figure out how to hook up to the quakenet server.
mirc is the best
MIRC is completely free. You only get a two-second nag when you first load it up if it's past the trial period. Just ignore it; wait the two seconds then click the button, and you won't have a problem.
google Xchat if you want total non-nag freeness.
Several of my peers use Chatzilla, which comes with the Mozilla browser, and they seem pleased with it. I don't use it myself though.
I only use XiRCON. Totally free, and not that hard to hook up
http://www.xircon.com/
1. Connect to irc.quakenet.org:6667, 6668, or another one if current one is full.
2. /join #ags
3. Go nuts

Chatzilla is okay, but I still find myself using mIRC more than it and only use Chatzilla if mIRC is screwing up on me.
Anyway, to use Chatzilla... you have to do something like:
/attach uk.quakenet.org (maybe irc.quakenet.org)
then:
/join #ags (that is if you want to talk to us :P)
I'm a unix geek. I just type "irc" at my shell. If I'm on the wrong network I just type /server xxx.yyy.zzz
It's so easy.
yay for unix geeks
