Song from perhaps 2000-2002-ish, I think. It was hip hop or some such. Black guys singing. I have a feeling the chorus was referencing hammering or jigsaws or wrenches... some kind of tool or tool like action. Maybe.
The filmclip was set in a bar and then, I think, on a street at night. There were female dancers doin' their thangs and DEFINITELY there was a wooden puppet doll like sorta singing these one liners.
Does -anyone- know the song I mean? It's driving me nuts.

Have you got the tune in your head? If so record yourself humming it and let us have a listen. Also i'll send it to my little sister. She's good at naming songs from humming. And she likes that kind of music aswell, so she's bound to get it.
Why not try making a midi of it (if you're into that sort of thing)? I know it would be hard to do with hip hop but it's easier to decipher than random humming.
Hang on... that rap video sounds like a hip hop version of 'Saw'- you mentioned jigsaws (the movie's antagonist is called Jigsaw), and you also mentioned a wooden doll (I recall seeing a doll like that in a Saw movie).
