Can anyone name this font or something that looks similar? I'm doing a webpage for a cafe, but can't find that font to reproduce the logo.

Thanks!

Or clean up the image and vectorize it if you're just looking to resize without degradation.  It may be time-consuming, but so is looking for fonts with just the right angles and curves.  You could also convert this to a TTF after it's done.

(Quick & dirty example:)

It's not the same font, but Eagle Bold and ATEagle-Bold are pretty close.

I used What the Font? to find them, you could have a look yourself in case I missed a better match.

Alternatively, that website suggests using Identifont if you can't find the font on their site. Identifont works by asking you lots of questions about the font. They also suggest asking font experts in their forum in this thread.

Although keep in mind that fonts tend to be pretty expensive, and you're probably better of asking the café for a higher resolution sample to scan and use, although that may or may not be perfectly legal.

Edit: Damn you, Smiley.

In the world of millions of free and useless fonts, I finally need one - and it's not free.
Yes, Eagle Bold it seems to be.

Unless I find something similar enough for free, I'm clueless.

Damn.

Can't you edit this in order to get the text you want? Photoshop can work wonders.

If it's not illegal, that is. I don't know the international rules of fonts by heart.

Stop me if this is stupid as I known very little about webdesigning, but:

If you only want this font for 5 letters, or a logo, already there, can't you just make it a jpg and use that instead? It won't be cheating or stealing or copyright problem since you are using the same logo for the existing company that uses it. No?

Using character sheet means that I have to clean it from antialiasing.
Modifying it means that I'm not using the font in its original form.
Or in form it's sold to people. Because what are the benefits font gives to people? Easy typing, scaling, etc...
I won't get to enjoy any of that. Like, I might aswell draw letters totally from scratch. All I'm using are shapes to save a bit extra work?

;)

So I guess that this wouldn't be illegal?
Using the font is typing text while it becomes on screen in THIS font style. Nothing else. And no one cannot take a copyright on latin letters.

But I actually don't care much, anyway, I just need this stupid logo.
Also, I dreamed about making menu buttons in same font, but doing it manually, it would be too primitive, unless I get this font somewhere or similar free one.

Oh well. Thanks for finding out the name!

The stuff there's mostly free, and you're bound to find a matching one.

Well I agree with the yak just vector it.

Vector art is the future, no quesion about it.

As for copying etc the cafe already paid for it so that means they are entitled to well there logo. So you can recreate it etc. IMO

But then again there is laws opinion :)
